Mark Henry AEW Contract Update – Henry Leaving AEW This Week
As noted before, Mark Henry’s contract with AEW is currently set to expire very soon.
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured co-host Henry providing an update stating that he will not be renewing his contract and will be leaving AEW once his deal expires on Tuesday.
“Well Dave, you know my impending contract status has reached an end. My contract with AEW is set to expire tomorrow, the 28th. I wanted to address that matter. Tony Khan said at the press conference that he was very happy and proud of what we did together and i feel the exact same way. I appreciate everything that happened at AEW with Tony khan and the khan family. I had a great experience and i do feel like it’s time for me to take more time to handle TheMarkHenry.com and the Remarkable brand and focus that attention on what my next steps are, and I’m not going to be renewing my deal. It’s a mutual thing. If I can’t dedicate 100% of myself, then it’s only fair for both parties to end the relationship on a positive note. Like I said, it’s been nothing but positive. I’ve done my best to help as many people as I’ve could. There are still some things that I wanted to help with that I didn’t get to finish, but those people have my phone number and anytime that they need to call me, I’m available for them. I am not leaving pro wrestling. What I’m saying is that I’m going to take some time to work on some projects and I’m going to come back again in full force because that’s what I do.”

Tay Melo Provides Update on Her Training for In-Ring Return
As noted before, Tay Melo has been out of action for AEW since March of 2023 due to maternity leave reasons over the birth of her first child. Melo recently began training for her in-ring return to AEW in the future.
In response to a recent fan comment on Twitter, Melo provided an update stating that she currently expects to be medically cleared for an in-ring return in a “couple more months.”
A couple more months until I’m cleared ❤️ https://t.co/fRuxV2Man4

Athena Leg Injury Status Update
As noted before, AEW and Ring of Honor talent Athena suffered a leg injury at ROH’s ROH TV tapings earlier this month in Portland, Oregon. The nature nor severity of her injury was not known at the time.
During Sunday’s AEW Double or Nothing 2024 post-show media scrum in Las Vegas, Nevada, AEW CEO and ROH owner Tony Khan provided an update on Athena’s injury status stating that she is a “little beat up” but should be fully healed soon.
“Athena might be the best wrestler in the world and is the Ring of Honor Women’s World Champion. And she is a little beat up herself right now. But she is going to be 100 percent very soon as we are bringing ROH and AEW to Texas — her home state and actually Dallas, her home city.”
