Quick Match Results
- Orange Cassidy defeated Trent Beretta via Roll-up (pinfall)
- Near the end of the match, Beretta ripped off a turnbuckle pad which led to the referee confronting Beretta over what he did and stopped him from using it as a potential weapon. This led to Cassidy ripping off a turnbuckle pad and covered the exposed turnbuckle with his body. Beretta charged at Cassidy only for Cassidy to send him head first into the exposed turnbuckle and rolled him up for the pinfall victory.
- Following the match, Beretta attacked Cassidy on the outside and hit a piledriver to Cassidy onto the steel steps. Beretta then went to grab a tool box while Cassidy recovered enough to crawl away and grabbed a chair to assist himself. Before Beretta could do anything else, security, Don Callis, and Kris Statlander all ran out to stop Beretta while Callis led Cassidy to the back.
- Mariah May defeated Harley Cameron via May Day (pinfall)
- Following the match, Saraya got into the ring and attacked May from behind leading to Cameron joining in on the attack. This led to Mina Shirakawa running out to save May and cleared the ring of Saraya and Cameron. Shirakwa picked up May and the two celebrated while Shirakawa teased the crowd of giving a kiss to May only to pull away and dance some more.
- Jay White defeated Rocky Romero via Bladerunner (pinfall)
- Following the match, The Gunns attacked Romero leading to PAC walking out menacing to save Romero and the Bang Bang Gang leaving the ring before he could his hands on them.
- Learning Tree (Chris Jericho & Big Bill) defeated via Mo Jabari & Harlon Abbott Judas Effect (pinfall)
- Jericho pinned Abbott after hitting a Judas Effect following Big Bill single handily manhandled both throughout the match.
- TNT Championship Cope Open No DQ match – Adam Copeland (c) defeated Brody King via Spear (pinfall)
- Earlier in the show, Copeland stated in a backstage interview that he had a call with Tony Khan who agreed to make his match be under No DQ rules.
- Following the match, King attacked Copeland leading to Kyle O’Reilly running out to save Copeland.
Anarchy In The Arena Match Announced for AEW Double Or Nothing 2024 & Bryan Danielson Makes “Injury” Return at Wed’ Dynamite Show
Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show featured one new match announced for the card of AEW Double or Nothing 2024, which takes place on May 26th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This new match announced was an Anarchy In The Arena match of The Elite (Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, & The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson)) vs. Team AEW (FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood), Eddie Kingston, & Bryan Danielson).
This match was setup following a video promo segment involving Omega. During the show, Omega was seen in a hospital bed talking about what happened to him at the hands of The Elite last week. Omega stated that he was reminded last week that this is just business and that he has his business of his own to attend to. Omega stated that May 26th marks the fifth anniversary of AEW’s first ever pay-per-view event and announced an Anarchy in the Arena with no rules match for this year’s event. Omega stated that The Elite will be facing off against Team AEW. Omega stated that the first two members of Team AEW will be FTR and the remaining members to be revealed later.

In a follow-up segment, The Elite came out to the ring and Matthew Jackson talked about their actions towards Omega and Tony Khan. Jackson then turned his attention to Omega’s challenge earlier for an Anarchy in the Arena match and accepted and mocked FTR . This led to FTR coming out to the stage and Harwood revealing that their partners for Team AEW. Kingston was the first to come out and after a brief pause, Danielson’s music played and he came out making his surprise return and revealing himself as the final member of the team. FTR, Kingston, and Danielson made their way to the ring and confronted the Elite in the ring. Matthew Jackson warned them to not lay a finger on The Elite, which led to them ignoring the threat and a big brawl broke out to close the show.

Mogul Embassy Turns on Swerve Strickland at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Show
Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured The Mogul Embassy turning on Swerve Strickland and kicking him out of the group.
During the show, Swerve Strickland came out to the ring and talked about Christian Cage and The Patriarchy’s attack on him last week and his upcoming match with Cage for his AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing 2024. After some more insults, Strickland called for Cage to come out, which he did with the rest of The Patriarchy.

Cage first mocked the Edmonton crowd stating how the Oilers will be stomped in a few hours and stated that is what happened to Strickland last week. Cage stated that people said it was disgusting to see him take one of the champ’s dreads and told the interrupting crowd to shut up when he’s conducting business. Cage stated that he is going to take a piece of the champ until he gets what he wants. Cage stated that Strickland has been riding a wave as champion but that wave will come crashing down at Double or Nothing. After some more words by Cage, The Patriarchy started to head down towards the ring before being stopped by Strickland who stated that he promised he was not coming alone. This led to the Mogul Embassy coming out from the crowd and entered the ring to be at Strickland’s side.

After some more insults by Strickland, Strickland demanded for Cage to get into the ring which led to Brian Cage attacking Strickland from behind and the Gates of Agony joining in on the attack. Cage and Gates of Agony continued their attack leading to Gates of Agony hitting a double team powerbomb to Strickland off the steel steps through the announcer’s table.

In a follow-up segment, The Young Bucks were seen backstage in applause of what had just happened and had a talk with Christian Cage, who stated that was a good idea from them and this being the beginnings of a very fruitful relationship.

HOOK’s Return Announced for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite Show
Wednesday’s Dynamite show also featured the official announcement of HOOK making his return to AEW at next week’s show on April 15th in Everett, Washington.
Following The Learning Tree’s tag team victory over a couple local talents, Chris Jericho grabbed a microphone and proceeded to give a post-match promo stating that it is great to be here in Calgary before quickly correcting himself and said Edmonton. This led to the crowd loudly booing Jericho and Jericho responding talking about making mistakes and learning from them. Jericho then sarcastically praised his opponents and then praised Big Bill for how good he was tonight. Jericho then talked about his match with Katsuyori Shibata last week and how their match got the “best rating on Cagematch.” Jericho then talked about HOOK stating that he is hoping for all the best for HOOK in his recovery after what he claimed was HOOK had hit himself in the head with the baseball bat at AEW Dynasty. This led to AEW announcer Tony Schiavone getting into the ring and interrupted Jericho to inform him that HOOK will be making his official return at next week’s show. Jericho responded trying to act being happy over the news and stated that they can celebrate together next week
