Brian Cage Explains Why Mogul Embassy Attacked Swerve Strickland, Strickland Responds Beating Up Cage & Gates of Agony
Saturday’s Collision show also featured Brian Cage explaining the reasons why the Mogul Embassy turned on Swerve Strickland and attacked him at this past Wednesday’s Dynamite show.
Following Cage and the Gates of Agony’s victory in a Trios match over a team of local talent, AEW commentator Tony Schiavone went into the ring to get some words over why Cage and Gates of Agony had attacked Strickland. Cage stated that they already made their point and claimed that Strickland had ignored them and only cared about himself. Cage stated that they needed new leadership and someone that did not leave them behind. Cage praised The Elite stating that they can bring the leadership they need and did what they did to Strickland for them.
This led to Strickland’s music playing and Strickland coming out from the crowd with a chain attacking Cage and the Gates of Agony. After running Cage out of the ring and from ringside, Strickland turned his attention towards Gates of Agony and laid both of them out with a set of Swerve Stomps. Strickland then chained Bishop Kaun to the ring post before being attacked by Toa Liona who sent Swerve into the steel steps. Liona then looked at the camera and called out Prince Nana’s name saying it is all his fault before attempting to hit a running knee strike to Strickland into the steps, which Strickland countered with a cinder block strike laying out Liona. While Cage looked on from the ramp, Strickland placed Liona’s head on the steps and grabbed a chair and swung it onto Liona’s head on the steps.

Strickland stated that he realizes that people are turning their backs on him and trying to use him. Strickland stated that he took out the Gates of Agony but still has one more guy left to face. Strickland then issued a challenge to Cage for a match at next week’s Dynamite show in his hometown to remind Cage whose house this is. Afterwards, this match was made official for next week’s Dynamite show and as an AEW World Championship Eliminator match.
