As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against TKO Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. McMahon resigned from TKO Group and WWE shortly afterwards over the fallout from this lawsuit.
Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that McMahon, former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis, and WWE itself were given waivers of summons on March 15th based on recent court records. Thurston reported that all three parties will have until May 14th to officially respond to the summons issued to them.
These summons also revealed that WWE is being represented by Daniel Toal from the Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP law firm, Laurinaitis is being represented by Edward Brennan, and McMahon is being represented by Jessica T. Rosenberg from the Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP law firm.
Waivers of summons dated March 15 for Vince McMahon and WWE finally appeared on the docket for Grant v. WWE et al, the same date as the waiver of summons for John Laurinaitis.

In regards to McMahon, NBC News reported that their sources stated that McMahon has been cooperating with authorities regarding the current federal criminal investigation of the allegations of sex trafficking against him. One source close to McMahon reportedly stated that “McMahon believes officials won’t bring any charges against him and that Grant’s civil case will be settled out of court, said a person close to the former wrestling executive.”
In regards to a potential settlement deal, a spokesperson for Grant’s attorney reportedly stated that there have been “absolutely no settlement talks with McMahon.”
It was also reported that McMahon has not had any contact with WWE or TKO executives and figureheads since he resigned from both this past January. McMahon reportedly has been in contact with John Cena and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson since his resignation.
It was also reported that McMahon has been taking lavish trips to Turks and Caicos Island and has been in contact with former United States President Donald Trump but the two have not discussed their legal matters with each other.
