More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for April 3rd
The April 3rd episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a slight increase in overall viewership.
AEW drew 752,000 viewers and a 0.23 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 3rd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases this week was due to the small gains from their older key demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given. This reportedly offset the decline from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was down 2.2% compared to last week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Boston Celtics drew 1,166,000 viewers on ESPN, the NHL game of New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers drew 505,000 viewers on TNT, Survivor drew 5,047,000 viewers on CBS, My 600-LB Life drew 431,000 viewers on TLC, House Hunters Repack drew 774,000 viewers on Home & Garden TV, and Top Chef drew 494,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 309,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 58,000 viewers, Females 18-34 was 33,000 viewers, Males 35-49 was 163,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 was 55,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 221,000 male viewers and 88,000 female viewers for a split of 71.5% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 933,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 655,000 viewers for their eighth quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 14.3% in overall viewership and down 20.4% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 43.1% compared to the same week last year.

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for March 29th
The March 29th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a very large decline in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a large decline in key demographic ratings. That week’s show was notable for Rampage returning back to their Friday late night time slot following the prior week’s show being preempted to a Wednesday’s night time slot on TBS due to TNT’s commitments with the 2024 NCAA Men’s basketball tournament.
AEW drew 350,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 28th place.

Dave Meltzer reported that the reason for AEW’s declines that week was due to a combination of very stiff sports competition that night and AEW returning back to their normal late night time slot. Meltzer reported that when comparing to two weeks ago’s show, AEW’s show had a large gain from their Over 50 demographic viewership, which its percentage was not given, and a very large gain from their younger key demo, which was up 135.7%. This reportedly offset the decline from their older key demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Dallas Mavericks vs. Sacremento Kings drew 191,000 viewers on NBA TV, the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game of Duke vs. Houston drew 7,331,000 viewers on CBS, the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game of Creighton vs. Tennessee drew 2,743,000 viewers on TBS, the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament game of Gonzaga vs. Texas drew 638,000 viewers on ESPN, 90 Day Fiance First Look drew 458,000 viewers on TLC, and House Hunters drew 759,000 viewers on Home & Garden TV.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 149,000 viewers.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 2.6% in overall viewership and up 10.8% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 42.9% compared to the same week last year. Meltzer reported that the main reason for the very large 18-34 increase was due to last year’s show went head-to-head against WWE’s Hall of Fame show and stiffer sports competition from the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament.

- 3Q – 332,000 overall viewers and 140,000 key demo viewers (Bulk of the May vs. Nikkita match, the Zak Knight backstage interview segment & brawl with Angelo Parker & angle with Ruby Soho, and The Righteous video promo segment)

The March 30th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership but suffered a large decline in key demographic rankings and a slight decline in key demographic ratings. That week’s episode was notable for Collision making its return following a one week break due to TNT’s 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament commitments.
AEW drew 458,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 28th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s mixed results that week was due to the large gains from their Over 50 viewership and younger male key demographic viewership groups, which the latter was up 150% compared to two weeks ago show. This reportedly mostly offset the very stiff sports competition that night from the 2024 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament games and the large decline from their older female key demographic viewership group, which was down 100% compared to two week’s ago show. Meltzer reported that AEW suffered a large drop in key demographic ratings going from a 0.13 rating in the first hour to a 0.10 rating in the second hour.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the MLB game of New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros drew 2,527,000 viewers on FOX, the NBA game of Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks drew 215,000 viewers on NBA TV, the 2024 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game of Clemson vs. Alabama drew 6,329,000 viewers on TBS and 1,456,000 viewers on TruTV, the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament game of Duke vs. UConn drew 1,981,000 viewers, and Cold Justice drew 569,000 viewers on Oxygen Network.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 149,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 50,000 viewers (up 150% compared to two weeks ago show), Females 18-34 had 16,000 viewers (up 100%), Males 35-49 had 70,000 viewers (down 24.7%), and Females 35-49 had 13,000 viewers (down 66.7%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 120,000 male viewers and 29,000 female viewers for a split of 80.5% in favor of males. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male skew is believed to be the highest ever for an AEW or WWE show in both AEW and WWE history.
