Powerhouse Hobbs Knee Injury Update
This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida featured Powerhouse Hobbs suffering a potential knee-related injury. This potential injury took place during Hobbs’ match against Jon Moxley for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship resulting in a likely audible being called for the finish to the match.
The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources confirmed that Hobbs had suffered a legitimate knee injury. Alvarez reported that Hobbs was favoring his knee after the match and hopped to the back for medical treatment.
Alvarez reported that details regarding the exact nature and severity of Hobbs’ injury are currently not known.
Jeff Hardy AEW Contract Status Update
As noted before, Jeff Hardy’s contract with AEW is current set to expire sometime in this Spring.
A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Matt Hardy confirming the reports about his brother Jeff’s contract with AEW expiring soon and stated that Jeff was offered a new deal at the same time that he was in the company.
“I think that is accurate though, so I’ll give Fightful their flowers. I think that is accurate. It’s coming up a lot sooner than we thought it was going to come up. I guess it could be extended if need be, you know once again, I don’t know what they’ll do. It seems like from what I know and what I’m aware of, because when they offered me a deal, they offered Jeff a deal at the same time and they were very similar and his date was a lot earlier than we thought. So yeah, that report is pretty accurate.
Recently. Yes [Jeff was also offered a new deal].”
In response to a question from co-host Jon Alba about if he currently believes that his career path will be linear with his brother going forward, Hardy stated:
“I would rather do it with Jeff, because Jeff and I, we have all these appearances that we’re doing together. Were at our best when we’re together and I even think Jeff would admit that and say that as well. It’s most beneficial from us when we’re both together, so we shall see. If something happened and it was just me doing my own thing, I’m okay with doing that, I’m not afraid of working hard and betting on myself. In a perfect world, it’s Jeff and I, we match up and we make the decisions together going forward.”
