Warner Bros Discovery Reportedly “Really Happy” Over AEW’s Ratings for This Week’s Dynamite Show
As noted before, the April 24th AEW Dynamite show drew 683,000 viewers and a 0.23 key demographic rating on TBS.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that one source spoken to at Warner Bros Discovery stated that WBD officials were “really happy” with the ratings for this week’s Dynamite show. This same source reportedly stated that WBD officials were aware of Dynamite going up against a lot of sports competition and still managed to beat everything else that was not sports-related that night for key demographic rankings. This same source reportedly also stated that WBD officials consider NBA and AEW to be “in the same family” when it comes to how they view key demo rankings for those shows and when removing NBA, they viewed Dynamite as only being behind ESPN’s coverage of the NHL Playoffs.
This same source reportedly also stated that AEW had to deal with several other issues that were out of their control in regards to the West Coast feed airing live at 5PM EST and audio issues on TBS’s end.
WBD officials reportedly currently expect AEW’s ratings for this week’s show to be even better once they factor in the Live+3 and +7 DVR viewers.
