Maryse Serous Borderline Ovarian Tumor Battle Update – Maryse Announces She’s Tumor Free Following Surgery
As noted before, former WWE wrestler Maryse, real name Maryse Mizanin, announced this past February that she was diagnosed with Serous Borderline Ovarian tumor and would be undergoing surgery in March.
Maryse provided an update on Instagram stating that she was informed by her doctors that she is tumor free following her recent successful surgery.
“As you know, 2 weeks ago I went in to surgery to have my ovaries/uterus/tubes/cervix/omentum removed. I also had staging (removal) of the lymph nodes in my abdomen to see if the disease had spread.
Pathology confirmed that it had not which is amazing news! More amazing news is that I am tumor free! The diagnosis did confirm that I had Primary Peritoneal Serous Borderline Tumors with involvement of ovaries/uterus/tubes!
Just to give you an idea of the rarity – 7 cases per million of women in the US per year! The fact that we not only found this but found this at this manageable stage is unbelievable and literally saved my life as this would have most likely been lethal.
Next, I will continue to rest following my surgery and then will follow up with specialists at MD Anderson in Houston.
I can never say thank you enough to my doctor @drthaisaliabadi and her team! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
I’m overwhelmed by the amount of support I’m getting from family, friends and fans all over the world! To all my women, please keep being your own advocate and trust yourself always! ❤️❤️❤️ “
Vince McMahon Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Update – John Laurinaitis Reportedly Acknowledges Janel Grant’s Lawsuit
As noted before, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit this past January against TKO Group Executive Chairman Vince McMahon accusing McMahon of committing sex trafficking and sexual abuse towards her during her time in the company. Besides McMahon, former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis was also named as an active participant in the lawsuit. Laurinaitis denied the allegations and claimed in a statement from his lawyer that he is a victim and not a perpetrator.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Laurinaitis filed a waiver of service this past Wednesday before the United States District Court of Connecticut based on recent court records.
Johnson reported that this means in legal terms that Laurinaitis has informed the court that he is aware of the lawsuit Grant had filed against McMahon, himself, and others in WWE. Laurinaitis waived the need to be served with the lawsuit personally and is attesting that he will respond within 60 days of March 15th.
Johnson also reported that Laurinaitis is the first defendant to officially respond to Grant’s lawsuit before the court.
Shawn Spears on Wanting to Finish His Career in WWE
Fightful held a recent interview with Shawn Spears. One of the topics discussed included Spears’ thoughts about his constantly changing work schedule near the end of his time in AEW and wanting to finish his career in WWE.
“The schedule changed a lot only because things were, again, moving quick over there and it seemed like I couldn’t find a spot, so-to-speak. I’m somebody who likes to keep going, keep moving. Out of sight, out of mind sort of thing. So if I wasn’t going to find a spot here, I’m going to see if I can work an independent over here. I was doing select ones. I wasn’t trying to go crazy every weekend and be away from my family. That’s a luxury I have been able to afford after 22 years of service. But it was just about more wrestling in certain places and wrestling certain talent, still going out there and having some fun. At the end of the day, that’s what this is supposed to be. It’s fun. My wife got pretty used to the schedule. She’s like, ‘Wow, you’re here all the time,’ and I’m itching to get to work. I’m like, ‘Oh, I just want to get out there more,’ but I don’t want to take too much time away from my family. So now that I am here and I am in town, I’m working every day and I am performing in NXT every Tuesday night. But I’m still home.
Now it’s just about finding the perfect balance, which will come in time. So luckily the schedule has always ended up working out in my schedule, for whatever reason it is. A lot of it is out of my hands. ‘Man, I would like to be in a position where I can see my family a lot more and still have my foot in a wrestling ring somewhere.’ Here we are. It ended up working out. I will say, though, that in a perfect world—this is me hoping—that this is the last stop. This is it. Regardless of my in-ring future here or what not, I can confidently say that I will finish my career here in WWE.”
