WWE: Booker T on Not Being Serious Over His CM Punk Incident Claims, Oba Femi Getting Major Praise in NXT, The Undertaker on Lack of Sting Match in WWE

Booker T Responds on Not Being Serious Over His Claims of Almost Being in Backstage Incident with CM Punk in NXT

As noted before, Booker T claimed in a recent episode of his The Hall of Fame podcast that he was almost involved in a backstage incident with CM Punk at last week’s NXT tapings at WWE’s Performance Center. Booker T’s alleged claims were denied by those within NXT and led to some backlash towards him over his comments.

Booker T recently responded on Twitter stating that people were making this issue about his comments into something “much to do about nothing.”

In a recent episode of The Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore podcast, Booker T expanded on his comments stating that whenever he says something about CM Punk, he is only just trying to entertain.

“I saw somebody said, ‘I just want to see you and CM Punk have a fight.’ Look, me and CM Punk, we won’t be having a fight, okay? I want to let everybody know out there, I have no ill will towards CM Punk. Contrary to popular belief, I consider CM Punk a friend. So when I’m saying something about CM Punk, do not take it literally, like the internet and these sites do. Don’t take it seriously. Don’t jump into that mud. If you hear me say anything here on ‘The Hall of Fame’, it’s show-related. I’m trying to entertain my fans. I’m trying to entertain the fans that’s watching this. I’m trying to give you guys a moment where you ain’t got to think about that kind of stuff. Alright? So let me say something about CM Punk, Corey Graves, Michael Cole, Brad [Gilmore], don’t jump into the Internet mess, alright? So let’s just get that out there right now because that story, that 40-second story that people wrote, it was clickbait. That’s what it was, more than anything. Did I put it out there? Did I say it, as far as I had a beef, I was going to run up? Yeah. I said it. I’m entertaining, guys.”

The Undertaker on Reason Why Him vs. Sting Match in WWE Never Took Place & WWE’s Acknowledgement of Sting’s Retirement

A recent episode of the Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway podcast featured WWE Hall of Famer and co-host The Undertaker’s thoughts about why a match between him and Sting never took place during their careers in WWE.

“That would have been huge box office. It just didn’t work out. He had a short run in WWE and Vince [Vince McMahon] didn’t want it. For whatever reason, I don’t know what it was. He just didn’t feel it. Everybody else was like, ‘People have been clamoring for this match for quite a few years.’ A year or two into that character change, people were already sending me artwork with the billboard or poster. It just never worked out. Then, when he got there, the match would have been good, but I don’t think it would have lived up to the expectations that people have for it. People always think about things in a certain sense. I think they thought in their mind of Undertaker 2007-2008 vs. Sting. It was later on than that. I can say, I was way on the backside of what I was going to do when he got there.”

The Undertaker also gave his thoughts about WWE’s recent on-screen acknowledgement of Sting’s retirement from wrestling at AEW’s Revolution 2024 event earlier this month.

“Well, there are certain people in the industry. I mean, yeah, we’re in competition with a different company. I get it. But Sting’s legacy is so much bigger than AEW or any of that. I mean, he deserved that. I’m happy that as a company that they acknowledged it, because it’s only right.”
