More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for March 6th
The March 6th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and slight decline in key demographic ratings. This week’s show was notable for being Dynamite’s new “Season Premiere” show.
AEW drew 779,000 viewers and a 0.27 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 3rd place.

Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s declines this week was due to the decline in their overall key demographic viewership group, which was down 6.8% compared to last week’s show, and male key demographic viewership group, which its percentage was not given.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Los Angeles Clippers vs. Houston Rockets drew 1,365,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Tennessee vs. South Carolina drew 740,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College basketball game of BYU vs. Iowa State drew 564,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College basketball game of UConn vs. Marquette drew 523,000 viewers on FS1, the NHL game of Buffalo Sabres vs. Toronto Maple Leafs drew 357,000 viewers on TNT, the NHL game of Detroit Red Wings vs. Colorado Avalanche drew 286,000 viewers on TNT, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 1,132,000 viewers on BRAVO, Sistas Series drew 957,000 viewers on BET, and Challenge New Champion drew 274,000 viewers on MTV.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 355,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 68.5% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 930,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 654,000 viewers for their eighth quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 9.2% in overall viewership and down 6.6% in key demographic viewership.

The March 1st episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a small decline in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 344,000 viewers and a 0.10 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 25th place.

Dave Meltzer reported that the reason for AEW’s declines that week was due to the small decline from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was down 4.8% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls drew 1,167,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Dayton vs. Loyola Chicago drew 268,000 viewers on ESPN2, NASCAR Trucks Las Vegas race drew 603,000 viewers on FS1, On Patrol Live drew 762,000 viewers on REELZ Channel, and House Hunters drew 767,000 viewers on Home & Garden TV.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 137,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership was 70.8% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 12.9% in overall viewership but up 5.4% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 14.3% compared to the same week last year.

The March 2nd episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a slight increase in key demographic ratings. That week’s episode was notable for being a taped and not a live show due to AEW giving their talent that night off as an extra day of rest for their Revolution 2024 event.
AEW drew 455,000 viewers and a 0.13 key demographic rating on TNT. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 10th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 31.7% and 48.1% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. Another reason reportedly was due to the large gain from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was up 9.3% compared to the prior week’s show. That reportedly offset the stiff sports competition that night.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NBA game of Denver Nuggets vs. Los Angeles Lakers drew 3,046,000 viewers on ABC, the College basketball game of Michigan State vs. Purdue drew 1,321,000 viewers on FOX, the College basketball game of Tennessee vs. Alabama drew 1,566,000 viewers on ESPN, the College basketball game of Houston vs. Oklahoma drew 452,000 viewers on ESPN2, the College basketball game of Xavier vs. Georgetown drew 162,000 viewers on FS1, and On Patrol Live drew 840,000 viewers on REELZ Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 175,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 40,000 viewers (up 100%), Females 18-34 was 14,000 viewers (down 33.3%), Males 35-49 was 82,000 viewers (up 9.3%) and Females 35-49 was 40,000 viewers (up 48.1%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 122,000 male viewers and 54,000 female viewers for a split of 69.1% in favor of males.
