Matt Hardy Confirms His AEW Contract Expires This Month
As noted before, Matt Hardy’s contract with AEW is currently expected to be expiring by the end of this month.
A recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast featured co-host Hardy confirming the reports of his contract with AEW expiring this month.
“That was all new to me, but it is what it is, I guess. As far as that goes with my contract, people had asked about my contract coming up. Obviously I’ve got responses, after that news broke earlier today and it didn’t come from me because no one had, had known anything about it. So once again, Sean Ross Sapp breaking breaking the news, right? Yes, it is coming up in March and, we’ve spoke about it and we’ve talked about it and I guess we’ll see what happens.
Ever since I came to AEW, I spoke with the Bucks first, I’ve been close with the Bucks. We’ve been great friends for a long time. I’ve really enjoyed working with Tony Khan. Tony Khan is legitimately a very, very good human being, I think. So we’ll see. Business is business. Sometimes, things change. You never know. I love AEW, I’m cool with staying with AEW. I really enjoy the locker room there, I enjoy the vibe there. But if that’s not what happens, then that’s not what happens, and life goes on. It’s all good.”

Mike Santana Comments on His Recent Departure from AEW
As noted before, Mike Santana officially departed from AEW earlier this month.
Santana recently reflected on Twitter about his departure from AEW and his belief that the best is yet to come for his wrestling career.
Took a few days to reflect and I can’t tell you how truly blessed and grateful I feel. It’s been 5 years full of ups and downs, but above all it taught me so much about myself and this business. I’m thankful for the opportunity I was given to be a part of history at the ground level. I can say that I’ll forever be a part of that legacy right at day one. But as you know, there comes a time in life where you have to make decisions and take a bet on yourself. We only get one chance at this life thing and life is about taking risks.
You’ll never know your true potential unless you really put it to work. I’m a big believer in “When one door closes, a bigger door opens”, and im so excited for what the future holds for me. With that being said, I want to thank God and my father for continuing to guide me. My family for their endless support.
All the fans who have backed me endlessly no matter what. To Ortiz, for the years. And AEW for the knowledge and opportunity.
I TOLD YOU THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
Thank you, EVERYONE. 🙏🏽@AEW pic.twitter.com/Wy8zUTBCnT

More on Sammy Guevara’s Suspension from AEW Over Jeff Hardy Injury
As noted before, Sammy Guevara was recently suspended by AEW over issues regarding Jeff Hardy suffering an injury during their match on the February 14th Rampage show and Guevara not following proper concussion protocol for finishing the match.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that AEW’s disciplinary committee were the one who handed the suspension to Guevara.
In regards to the cause of Guevara’s suspension, Meltzer reported that Guevara had been informed to go right to the finish after AEW doctor checked on Hardy and did not call off the match. The feeling within AEW was that Guevara should have gone right to the finish and not performed his GTH, which is a knee strike to the head, since there had been concerns over Hardy suffering a potential concussion. Instead Guevara continued the match and hit his GTH finisher to end it.
Meltzer reported that another version of the story defended Guevara’s decision stating that there was a miscommunication between the parties involved.
