Jade Cargill Comments on How AEW Helped Prepare Her for Career in WWE
Denise Salcedo held a recent interview with Jade Cargill. One of the topics discussed included Cargill’s thoughts about how her time in AEW and AEW’s locker room helped prepare her for an eventual career in WWE.
“I felt like I would have never got a better start other than AEW. That’s me being very honest. The veterans in the locker room prepared me for the grander stage at WWE. I got a great experience there, being thrown into the water and being able to swim and survive, it’s prepared me for the big stage that WWE has, the locker room, the phenomenal staff that WWE has. They have a front office like no other. I’m just ecstatic to be here.”
Following her interview, Cargill recently responded on Twitter to comments made by several others on social media that felt that she only used AEW to get into WWE.
I’m going to say this and I’m done with it. I’m PROUD of where I came from and I am PROUD of where I am. All that making up stuff you fake pages/reporters do in between is not what I am about. I do the work and I keep my mouth closed. Stop making something out of NOTHING. 🩶💪🏾🌪️

WWE News & Notes
WWE reportedly has currently scheduled for NXT talents Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, and Trick Williams to all make an appearance at Friday’s SmackDown show in Birmingham, Alabama, according to PWInsider.
Gunther surpassed the milestone of 600 days as current WWE Intercontinental Champion as of this past Wednesday.
WWE recently released a behind-the-scenes video featuring Jade Cargill making her official WWE in-ring debut at this past Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2024 event.
WWE also recently released a behind-the-scenes video featuring CM Punk and Cody Rhodes at this past Monday’s RAW show. Following Punk’s promo segment on the show confirming his torn triceps injury and him being out for WrestleMania 40, Punk met with Rhodes and told him to “finish your story, bro.” This was in reference to Rhodes winning this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble match and indicating that he wants a rematch against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Sonya Deville recently joined the cast of an upcoming film titled DNA Secrets that is currently in filming in Florida. Deville will be portraying the role of a police officer in the film. In a recent interview with 10 Tampa Bay, Deville gave her thoughts about the similarities and differences between being on WWE television and acting. Deville stated “Obviously, the hustle and bustle, the hurry up and wait, the cameras, the memorization of lines, the having to constantly be ready and on is very similar. I have to say I do like that in filmmaking, you get more than one take. When you’re on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown, it is live-live and that is it.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
This past Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Miami, Florida featured NXT talent Trick Williams making his official main roster debut appearance. In a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio podcast, Williams’ gave his thoughts about the crowd reaction he received for his official main roster debut being a “dream come true” for him. Williams stated “Honestly, it’s a dream come true (reaction he received at 1/26 WWE SmackDown). I think that’s the feeling that every wrestler wants to feel. Running out when you hear your music being played. So, beyond my imagination. Who thinks their first debut is gonna sound like that? So, I’m grateful for it.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with Lucha Libre Online, Rhea Ripley gave her thoughts about WWE’s upcoming Elimination Chamber 2024 event in Australia and her currently expecting to become very emotional being in front of her home country crowd at the event. Ripley stated “It feels amazing (to know I’ll be at Elimination Chamber in Australia). I am so excited to feel the energy from the crowd because I feel like it’s just going to be so electric and it’s going to — hopefully, I don’t cry but I feel like it’s gonna make me cry. It’ll be like a full circle moment where I end up in Zelina Vega’s shoes when she came out in Puerto Rico. It’s gonna be my version of that and I’m so excited.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with the Busted Open Radio podcast, Cody Rhodes gave his thoughts about others in wrestling and WWE 2K24 using his “finish the story” phrase. Rhodes stated “I love that you give me credit for it (‘finish the story’ phrase) because there’s actually a debate. So, I said ‘finish the story’ in a promo before the Royal Rumble and it was on my weight belt last year. But Michael Cole is the first person I think who said it on broadcast. So I feel like it’s Michael. ‘Finish the story’ might be a Michael Cole (thing) because at some point, we’re gonna start looking for who came up with this. I actually talked to Triple H about this a few weeks ago. When I said the game was using ‘finish the story’ as a theme and I see (Hulk) Hogan talking about his story, Undertaker talking about his story, Steve Austin talking about his story. I felt like, oh, I’ve done something. I think the last thing that felt like it spread like wildfire a little bit was ‘Bullet Club is fine’, and that was a fun, you know… being able to name FTR and those guys. That was a fun deal but this seems to be on a whole other level so…” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
This past Monday’s RAW show featured RAW ring announcer Samantha Irving performing a special ring introduction for Chelsea Green. Prior to its return, Irving had stopped doing special ring intros for Green in late 2023 despite still doing the same for other RAW brand talents. In a recent interview with WrestlingNews.co, Green gave her thoughts about her belief why her special intros had stopped for a while and social media playing a big role for its return. Green stated “I don’t know fully where that came from (Samantha Irvin no longer doing her special introduction). But I do know Samantha was told not to say it. Now that only lasted, I mean, maybe three weeks? A month? My gut tells me that someone high up thought, let’s not make a big scene over all of the entrances. We’re just trying to announce them, we’re trying to have the announcers play their role and things like that, and then, I think, my gut tells me that social media maybe got in someone’s ear and people realized how much they love to hear — the fans love to hear my announcement and honestly, I was so sad to see it go and I felt like a little part of me on my entrance was lost so for me, I did go and I did ask and verbalized, ‘Hey, I love my announcement. I really don’t want it to go anywhere.’ But of course, at the end of the day, I just have to let it be because I’m still going out there to the ring, I’m still doing my job, I’m still wrestling, you know?… I said what I had to say and I left it and then three weeks later, after the internet kind of went up in flames over it, it came back and all I have to say is thank you Twitter. For once in my career, thank you Twitter.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
