WWE Reportedly Dropped All Creative Plans for Brock Lesnar
As noted before, WWE dropped their plans for Brock Lesnar to make his return at this past Saturday’s Royal Rumble 2024 event due to his involvement in the recent Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE officials currently no longer have any plans to use Lesnar again and his future in the company is also currently in jeopardy.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that WWE recently put almost all of Lesnar’s merchandise on discount sale on their WWEShop online store.
Johnson reported that his sources also confirmed that Lesnar has been taken “off the table” in regards to any new creative plans being made for him in the company going forward.
Current Card for WWE WrestleMania 40
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Birmingham, Alabama featured one official match announced and two potential matches teased for WrestleMania 40, which takes place on April 6-7 at the Lincoln Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In regards to the official match, this was announced to be a WWE Women’s Championship match of Bayley vs. IYO SKY (c).
In regards to the potential matches, the first potential match is an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match of The Rock vs. Roman Reigns (c).
This match was setup following Cody Rhodes giving up his chance at a rematch against Reigns for Reigns’ title at WrestleMania 40 in favor of letting Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson take that spot instead. This match is currently expected to be made official at a WrestleMania 40 kickoff press event that will be taking place on February 8th in Las Vegas, Nevada. A graphic announcing this press event was shown on the screen during The Rock and Reigns staredown that closed out Friday’s show.
The other potential match is a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match of Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (c).
This match is currently expected to be confirmed as early as next week’s RAW show following Rhodes giving up his chance to face Reigns at WrestleMania 40 leaving only Rollins left for his choice for a top title match at the event.

WWE Tag Team Title Match Announced for Elimination Chamber 2024
Friday’s WWE SmackDown show in Birmingham, Alabama also featured the announcement of the first official match for Elimination Chamber 2024, which takes place on February 24th at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.
This match announced was an Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship match of Winner of Qualifier tournament vs. Judgement Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (c).
This Qualifier tournament was announced to have started on Friday’s show and featured Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne defeating Pretty Deadly, LWO, and Legado Del Fantasma to advance to the Finals from the SmackDown side of the bracket.
Bate and Dunne will face off against the winner of a second qualifier match that will be taking place at this Monday’s RAW show. The teams for this upcoming qualifier match have yet to be announced.
