As noted before, WWE dropped all of their plans for Brock Lesnar’s potential return to the company due to his involvement in the recent Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit. Lesnar was also recently pulled from the WWE SuperCard mobile game, the cover of WWE 2K24’s 40 Years of WrestleMania special edition, and WWE’s signature video for their shows as part of the fallout.
Insider Gaming reported that their sources stated that 2K Games recently removed Lesnar as a playable wrestler for their upcoming WWE 2K24 video game.
It was reported that files related to Lesnar are still within the game due to it was too late into the game’s development for Lesnar to be fully removed in time for it release.
In regards to the game’s playable launch roster, Fightful Select and TheSmackDownHotel reported that the initial full launch roster list for WWE 2K24 was missing several wrestlers who had been previously announced for the game.
It was reported that this initial list was missing previously announced Drew McIntyre, Kurt Angle, and Ken Shamrock for the game’s roster. Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that this was just a simple error made by 2K Games. This was later corrected by 2K Games in a revised roster list on the game’s official website.
