Update on WWE’s Current Talks for RAW TV Deal – Amazon Rumored to be Likely New Home for RAW
Sports Buisness Journal’s John Ourand reported that he currently predicts that Amazon will likely be the one who secures the television rights for WWE’s next television deal for RAW.
Ourand reported that Amazon would likely keep RAW on Monday nights and would give the company another marquee night of live programming for their Prime Video streaming service alongside Thursday Night Football. Ourand also reported that WWE’s RAW series would in return see a benefit from young males viewership that Amazon currently believes it can see growth for their Prime Video service.
Ourand also reported that Disney could possibly secure the rights for RAW for FX and this scenario would become “likely if WWE is unable to find enough money from βRawβ suitors. But it looks like one media company will step up for that property.”
