Kota Ibushi Hospitalized Over Ankles Injuries at NOAH’s The New Year 2024 Event
Tuesday’s The New Year 2024 event for Pro Wrestling NOAH featured Naomichi Marufuji defeating Kota Ibushi in the main event. Throughout the match, Ibushi was seen visibly struggling to move and perform and at one point grabbed grabbed his ankle in pain following a moonsault spot to the outside.
Hochi News reported that Ibushi had suffered injuries to both of his ankles during the match and was hospitalized after the event was over.
It was reported that while Ibushi was able to walk to the backstage area on his own, he informed others that he was in severe pain and could not do his backstage post-match interview. It was reported that this led to an ambulance being called for Ibushi and him being sent to the hospital for medical treatment.
When asked about Ibushi’s injury status, NOAH Director Arihiro Takeda stated “We won’t know the details until after receiving a diagnosis at the hospital.”
