In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced was a Six-Man Tag Team match of Blackpool Combat Club (Wheeler Yuta, Bryan Danielson, & TBA) vs. Mark Briscoe & FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood).
This new match was setup following a backstage promo segment involving Danielson and Yuta. During his promo, Danielson reflected about only facing the late Jay Briscoe once in his career at Final Battle 2003 and Briscoe’s last match in ROH being a Dog Collar match with his brother Mark against FTR at last year’s event. Prior to the start of the show, Harwood stated on Twitter that FTR will be making an appearance at Final Battle 2023 to celebrate the one year anniversary of their memorable Dog Collar match against The Briscoes.
