More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for December 6th

The December 6th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW a small decline in overall viewership and key demographic ratings.

AEW drew 823,000 viewers and a 0.25 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 4th place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines that night was due to stiff competition from the Republican Presidential Primary Debate that night and the steep decline in viewership for most of the show after its first 30 minutes. Another reason reportedly was due to the large declines from their younger key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were down 23% and 12% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the higher than usual lead-in programming viewership from the Big Bang Theory, which drew 1,127,000 viewers, and the gain from their older female key demographic viewership group, which was up 6.6% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that AEW’s key demographic viewership was its third lowest of 2023.
