As noted before, All Japan Pro Wrestling announced on Saturday that WWE will be sending a NXT brand talent to compete at their New Year Giant Series 2024 event on January 3, 2024 in Tokyo, Japan. This mystery person will be officially challenging for the AJPW Triple Crown Championship currently held by Katsuhiko Nakajima at the event.
AJPW released a video earlier today on Twitter featuring WWE’s William Regal announcing that his son and NXT talent Charlie Dempsey is the official challenger for the AJPW Triple Crown Championship at AJPW’s upcoming event.
This was the first time that Regal had publicly acknowledged that Dempsey is his son and stated that Dempsey will carry on the tradition set by Johnny Saint, Billy Robinson, and other famous European wrestling legends who have wrestled in Japan.
