AEW: Mike Santana Clarifies Contract Status, Satnam Singh on AEW Planning to Hold Event in India, Samoa Joe on Career Future

Mike Santana Clarifies His Current AEW Contract Status

Mike Santana had been out of action for AEW from June of 2022 until this past August due to a knee injury. During his time away from the company, Santana and Ortiz had both split as a tag team in AEW and as real life friends over issues regarding the direction of their careers.

Santana announced on Twitter on Wednesday that he wants to make 2024 the best year of his wrestling career and is currently available for bookings.

This quickly led to the speculation that Santana’s contract with AEW was set to expire at the end of this year. While responding to a fan question, Santana stated that he is still under contract with AEW but he is done just sitting around and waiting for opportunities to come to him for his career.

Satnam Singh Comments on AEW Working on Plans to Hold an Event in India in the Future

The Hindustan Times held a recent interview with Satnam Singh. One of the topics discussed included Singh revealing that AEW is working on plans to hold an event in his native country of India in the future.

“I have signed with AEW now, and I stay with them always. Every week we travel and we have matches also. We are planning to bring AEW to India and expose it here so that the people in this country know what it is. This is important. The youth should know that something can be done with wrestling too. Children need to find something, analyse your health and power, and see what you can do. It is not important that you need to do sports, study, become a businessman, very important.”

Samoa Joe Comments on Future of His In-Ring Wrestling Career

Adrian Hernandez held a recent interview with Samoa Joe. One of the topics discussed included Joe’s thoughts about the future of his in-ring wrestling career and potential retirement plans.

“Oh no, I’ll probably stop (wrestling) way before then (his body tells him to stop). I’ve been really, really fortunate. When I came off the concussion, I took two years off to really get everything back in order and in that time too, just in the recovery process, really changed a lot of my training and changed a lot of things around that have benefited me to a great amount health-wise and I feel good right now. As far as where the train will end, I’ll let it play out a little bit more but I will say this, I definitely have more than a handful of good years left in me and beyond that, I’m excited to… if we are gonna go out, we’re gonna go out with a bang so, it’ll be interesting to see how these next few years play out.”
