“I think that the global successes of 2023, especially our historic ticket sales record set at ‘AEW: All In London’ at Wembley Stadium and our foray into Canada where we saw incredible moments such as ‘AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door’ in Toronto and the crowning of the second Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winners in Calgary, helped make this a banner year for AEW,” said Tony Khan. “We’re in a great position going into 2024, and I can’t wait to plant AEW’s flag in four new markets across Canada, and revisit some of the amazing cities we debuted in last summer. Everyone at AEW is proud to continue paying homage to Canada’s rich wrestling heritage, and serving the great Canadian fans with massive shows across the country in the new year.”

Following the show, Mankiewicz reflected on Twitter about his appearance in AEW and thanked AEW CEO Tony Khan for helping make it be possible. Mankiewicz stated “Thanks for asking, Tony. We love finding classic movies in unexpected (for us, anyway) places.” In a follow-up tweet, Mankiewicz also gave his thoughts about his involevemnt on the show. Mankiewicz stated “I’m not entirely sure what I did here, but it’s further proof that classic movie fans are everywhere. And it is wonderful. In a recent interview with the New York Post, AEW CEO Tony Khan gave his thoughts about Ric Flair recently joining AEW and his appearances for the company. As far as I know, Arn or myself, nobody ever came to us.” Blanchard also stated that he is not sure what advice he would have been able to give had he been asked due to the differences in today’s era of wrestling compared to his era. Blanchard stated “I don’t know that…my mind and the world that I came from in this business, I don’t know if there’s anything that I could offer. Because I don’t know how to do what they do. Because it is a, ‘Okay, I’m gonna do this, and the fans have to cheer for it or boo it, or be quiet.’ But the match never changes. Whereas if I did something and the fans didn’t react, I changed course right then. But I had that ability because my job was to make people scream. I don’t know that they really know how to do that [be spontaneous] anymore.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
