CJ Perry Hospitalization Update – Perry Reveals Cause of Her Finger Infection & Hospitalization
As noted before, CJ Perry has been hospitalized since this past Saturday due to an infection in her finger that later spread to her arm. Perry recently underwent successful surgery to fix her infection health issues.
Perry provided an update earlier today on Instagram stating that the cause of her infection was due to a cut she suffered from a splinter backstage during last week’s AEW Dynamite show in Arlington, Texas.
“I have been in the hospital since Saturday fighting a fatal infection that came from getting a small splinter backstage at work this past Wednesday. Please keep me in your prayers. And everyone really take care of any cuts you get. As small as a splinter can turn into a deadly infection. Love all of you guys and thank you to everyone who has reached out.”

MJF recently reflected on Twitter about his induction to the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame this past Monday in Long Island, New York. MJF stated “I can’t put into words what today meant to me. With the rampant discrimination and bigotry seen worldwide i proudly say i’m not just a Jew, I’m a human. We should all treat each other as such. Except me…I deserve special treatment because I’m a hall of fame level human.“
In a recent interview with the SI Media with Jimmy Traina podcast, MJF gave his thoughts about the photo he took with John Cena at the recent world premiere of The Iron Claw film in Los Angeles, California. MJF stated “We’re two guys that are both massive fans of each other’s work. He loves what I’m doing in AEW, I obviously love everything that he’s done in professional wrestling as a whole. He’s a — easily, a first-ballot Hall of Famer and I believe that — literally, I am a Hall of Famer but I believe that I am also soon-to-be a first-ballot professional wrestling Hall of Famer as well and we exchanged pleasantries and we talked and discussed about, you know, how we’re fans of each other’s work and I told him straight up, I find him to be an absolute inspiration. What he’s been able to do with Make-A-Wish with all these kids and also what he’s been able to do, completely transcend outside the professional wrestling sport and landscape is something that I’ve begun to do as well and I’m really proud of that and I don’t think I’d be able to do that without following the footsteps of these major giants in professional wrestling history like him, like Batista, like The Rock. If it’s not for these guys, they wouldn’t take me seriously as an actor.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent interview with Uproxx, AEW music coordinator Mikey Rukus gave his thoughts about his plans to expand AEW’s music to different mediums in 2024. Rukus stated “I really want to focus on the expansion of our music base. Not just the actual music that you hear on wrestling programming, but being able to hear it in different mediums, whether it be sporting events, television ad campaigns, things like that. I want to be able to impact education. I want young people to be inspired by the music that we create, I want to be able to inspire people that way and, and just really really hit at the heart of what storytelling is in an audio format.“
A recent virtual fan signing event for K&S WrestleFest featured Mark Briscoe as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Briscoe’s thoughts about how he would celebrate if he were to win the AEW World Championship in the future. Briscoe stated “I’d be more than happy to take it (AEW International Title)… I’d be more than happy to take it from him (MJF’s AEW World Championship). Take it back down Sussex County, parade right down the street. I’ll fill the back up with chickens. It’ll be a buckin’ and a clucking and a flapping feathers everywhere and I’ll be standing right back there. Hun, will you drive the truck for me? (Mark asked of his wife and she said, ‘I guess’) Thank you. Me and the chickens be back there giving the fine folks of Sussex County what they been waiting for all these years; a true champion.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
In a recent episode of the My World With Jeff Jarrett podcast, co-host Jeff Jarrett gave his thoughts about Sting’s upcoming retirement from wrestling at AEW Revolution 2024. Jarrett stated “I’m excited. As the old mentality, you give them something concise and what they want to see, you don’t have to give them anything other than it’s Sting’s last match. Me and Sting got a long history, WCW, TNA, and a little bit of it in AEW. But I’m very, very happy for my man to be going out that way. That’s going to bring a very, very special night.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
In a recent interview with The Pope’s Point of View with Elijah Burke podcast, Red Velvet gave her thoughts about the impact of QT Marshall’s departure from AEW. Red Velvet stated “I think him (Q.T. Marshall) leaving AEW is a loss for us talent but, at the same time, we have to be respectful of people’s decisions and that’s ultimately what they choose is best for them. I do still think it’s a loss. He has a great mind. I think he’s one of the first people also in my journey of AEW. He was my first point of contact and the day I got signed, he said to me, ‘It’s time to leave the nest. I’m no longer in charge of you anymore. You’re a full-time talent here’ and I messaged him separately when he did announce his resignation and thanked him because I truly couldn’t have done it without him. He was always very honest with me, he was always just somebody very honest. Sometimes, people are like, ‘Oh, well, Q.T.’s kind of mean.’ No, he’s just like whatever he says to your face is really what he says about you and I have to respect that. He’s real all the way, always kept it 100 with me, always told me where I could improve and he was a big part of just that big story that helped developed my character and one thing that stuck with me was I think the first time I was there as an extra and he wasn’t here to tell anyone yes or no. ‘I’m here to give anyone the opportunity. It’s up to you to make the most of it’ so, just the fact that he said that, that it wasn’t really about like, oh, let’s look at you. You fit the part. Yes, no. It was just like giving anyone an opportunity, letting them have that control of how they get the job or not. I respected that. But he will be missed. He’s, thankfully, someone I can easily talk to and stuff so even though he won’t be in the same company, I know I can always contact him if I need help and advice but I wish him the best.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
