Various: Mercedes Mone Injury Update, Scott D’Amore on Talk with Jeff Jarrett About Impact Reverting Back to TNA, Indies

Mercedes Mone Ankle Injury Status Update

As noted before, Mercedes Mone has been out of action for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Stardom since this past May due to an ankle injury.

A recent episode of the WrestlePurists podcast feature NJPW official and talent Rocky Romero as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Romero stating that he has no real update on the current status of Mone’s recovery but is hoping to be able to speak to Mone and her agent soon.

“I honestly don’t have any update right now (on Mercedes Moné). I hope that I’ll be talking to her agent and her maybe soon-ish, but I honestly don’t have any update yet about anything. The last thing I had heard was that she was recovering well and basically they were gonna let me know, reach out when she was getting close to a comeback so, yeah.

There’s definitely still communication and I mean obviously though, I don’t know what she’s gonna wanna do when she comes back for sure. Especially coming back from a serious injury, you know? And that maybe messed up her timeframe of what she wanted to do and how she wanted to do it so, I really couldn’t say or speak for her, you know? I don’t think it would be fair.

No (there’s no issue between the two sides). No, no, no. I think that she thoroughly enjoyed her time in New Japan and New Japan loved working with her and obviously would love to continue to work with her. But yeah, I think everybody’s pretty happy with the work that we’ve done obviously.”

As noted before, Impact Wrestling announced at this past October’s Bound For Glory 2023 that they will be rebranding back to their former name of TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Wrestling at their Hard to Kill 2024 event in January of 2024.

A recent episode of WhatCulture Wrestling podcast featured Impact President Scott D’Amore as the guest. One of the topics discussed included D’Amore’s thoughts about a recent conversation he had with former TNA co-founder Jeff Jarrett over Impact’s decision to revert back to their former company name.

“I had an exchange with Jeff Jarrett about this the other day (IMPACT going back to TNA name). Actually, it was flying over here (to the U.K.) and I was messaging him back and forth and you know, I said, ‘We haven’t really talked about it but I just want you to know, this has our 100. This is getting everything we got because this is something you created and it’s something that means the world to me’ and we had a wonderful exchange about it. He was very supportive.”

Representation matters and for me to come from a third world country which it probably is, I feel like a lot of people don’t get represented from that part of the world at all. I usually put my goals into sections into my life. Like I said, one of my goals was to start training by 20.
