More on AEW Collision Viewership for November 4th

AEW drew 366,000 viewers and a 0.09 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 22nd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s declines that week was due to a combination of stiff competition from College Football, competition from WWE’s Crown Jewel 2023 event that same day, and the large drop from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was down 46.9% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the gain from their older female key demographic viewership group, which was up 10.6% compared to the prior week’s show.
In regards to competition from WWE’s event, Meltzer reported that despite WWE’s event not going head-to-head against AEW’s show, each of AEW’s previous lows for Collision have taken place the same day as a WWE event. Meltzer speculated that the share of AEW viewers who are also regular WWE viewers likely had their fill of wrestling for the day after watching WWE’s Crown Jewel event earlier in the day and skipped watching that night’s Collision show live. Meltzer reported that AEW and TNT officials had been under the assumption since the start of AEW’s Rampage series that there is a pool of around 2 million viewers that watch wrestling on Fridays and believed that a good amount would switch over when WWE shows are done to watch more wrestling when that has been proven to not have been the case for both Rampage and now Collision.
