More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for November 1st

The November 1st episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a small increase in key demographic ratings.

AEW drew 832,000 viewers and a 0.28 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 3rd place.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s increases this week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 33.6% and 66.7% respectively compared to last week show. This reportedly offset the stiff sports competition that night, especially from the 2023 MLB World Series and the small decline from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was down 2.4% compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that this week’s show being much higher than last week’s show despite the stiffer sports competition has led to the belief by many within the industry that the direct cause for last week’s show declines was the news programming coverage of the Lewiston, Main mass shooting attack that night. Meltzer also reported that despite WWE heavily advertising the new season of MTV’s Challenge during this past Monday’s RAW show, it did not have any real notable effect on Dynamite’s numbers for this week.

In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2023 MLB World Series Game 5 of Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks drew 11,481,000 viewers on FOX, the NBA game of New Orleans Pelicans vs. Oklahoma City Thunder drew 1,031,000 viewers on ESPN, the NHL game of Buffalo Sabres vs. Philadelphia Flyers drew 309,000 viewers on TNT, Survivor drew 4,865,000 viewers on CBS, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills drew 875,000 viewers on BRAVO, Challenge: New Champion drew 311,000 viewers on MTV, Sistas Series drew 980,000 viewers on BET, and House Hunters drew 786,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV.

In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 366,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 104,000 viewers (up 55.4%), Females 18-34 was 43,000 viewers (up 23.2%), Males 35-49 was 163,000 viewers (down 2.4%), and Females 35-49 was 56,000 viewers (up 66.7%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 267,000 male viewers and 99,000 female viewers for a split of 73% in favor of males.

In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 985,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 762,000 viewers for their sixth quarter.
