Daniel Garcia Comments on His Match with MJF for AEW World Title at This Past Wed.’s Dynamite Show

This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Portland, Oregon featured MJF defeating Daniel Garcia to retain his AEW World Championship.

AEW recently released a video featuring Garcia reflecting on his loss to MJF at the show. Garcia stated:

“You know, these losses that I keep seeming to take, they used to hurt a lot less. When you’re like the fresh, shiny new toy that keeps getting played with and played with, you know that these opportunities will keep coming and coming and these losses just used to hurt so much less than they do right now. When every veteran, every legend wants to work with you, it just hurts so much less. A loss at that time is almost like endearing or in a way charming. Look at you, you came so close to winning but think about what he could do in two years or three years and now that the time has passed, and I’m kind of in the same position, now a loss just feels like the end of the world. This loss, specifically, feels like the end of the world to me. I kind of don’t know where to go from here. Every week I go into the back locker room and people come in with their bags and it gets more and more crowded. This roster just keeps getting bigger and bigger and these opportunities that I’m talking about just get harder and harder to come by. Every week, I come here, I don’t know what I’m doing. I just don’t know when an opportunity like this is going to come again and I wish I had a big, fired up promo full of false confidence that I could give to you right now, but I don’t even think I’d believe that. I used to have so many people here tell me what they think is best for me but in a way, I don’t even know what’s best for myself. I just kind of feel lost, that’s all I really have to say.”

Saraya also stated that she had suggested to Ruby Soho to do the same after some of the negative stuff she was receiving online following a recent match. Saraya stated “Right now, I have a social media clense where I completely take it off my phone. I don’t read the comments. I don’t see girls that look ten times better than me. I don’t see that kind of stuff. I try to avoid it. That’s a big part of it. The environment you put yourself in, the crew you have around you. You can have people who bring you down or you can have people that elevate you. Those are the people I like to be around, we all elevate each other. Social media is hell. The devil. Just take it off your phone. I had to say to my girl Ruby the other day. She did a wrestling match, and the wrestling community online can be very unforgiving, and they can be mean for no reason. They were just attacking her and she was texting me about it. ‘They’re just destroying us.’ ‘Delete it off your phone then it doesn’t exist.’ You feel a lot better when you don’t have it on your phone.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
