AEW Reportedly Planning to Give Continued Big Push for Julia Hart Following Full Gear 2023
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that AEW officials currently have plans in place for Julia Hart to receive a continued big push following tonight’s Full Gear 2023 event.
It was reported that AEW officials had made some changes to their original plans for Hart’s push due to her taking several weeks off as a break for her marriage and honeymoon to Lee Johnson. These changes reportedly also involved either Skye Blue or Willow Nightingale.
It was also reported that the reactions Hart has been getting with crowds of late has not gone unnoticed by AEW officials.
It was also reported that it is currently not known if Hart is currently planned to win the TBS Championship at tonight’s Full Gear 2023 event but AEW’s big push plans for her are expected to continue afterwards.
Update on AEW’s New Signing Reveal for Tonight’s Full Gear 2023 Event
As noted before, AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced that this Saturday’s Full Gear 2023 will feature the official debut of a new signee for the company. This person is currently believed to be New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Will Ospreay.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Ospreay was not seen backstage at Friday’s Collision and Rampage tapings in Los Angeles. Johnson reported that his sources within NJPW stated that they currently expect Ospreay to sign with AEW.
In a separate report, Johnson reported that his sources stated that Ospreay had already received blessing from NJPW to explore discussions with other companies while still being under contract with them. Besides AEW, multiple other companies reportedly have been interested in Ospreay and have given him offers.
AEW Full Gear 2023 News & Notes
WrestleTix reported that AEW has distributed around 11,324 tickets for tonight’s Full Gear 2023 event as of this afternoon. This total includes both sold and comp tickets for the event.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that AEW’s live gate for tonight’s Full Gear 2023 event is currently on track to potentially be the third largest audience and gate for an AEW event this year.
AEW recently released the Countdown to Full Gear special that aired on Friday on TNT following that night’s Collision and Rampage shows.
The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer reported in Friday’s Daily Update that despite Ric Flair not being listed in recent advertisements as being in Sting’s corner for the Trios match at Full Gear 2023, his sources stated that Flair is still scheduled to be at the event for the match.
AEW and events distributor Joe Hand Promotions recently announced that they are partnering again for the airing of tonight’s AEW Full Gear 2023 event at select out-of-home establishments across North America.
Friday’s Unreal event for Pro Wrestling Revolver in Los Angeles, California featured AEW’s Hangman Adam Page making a surprise appearance. During an in-ring promo segment involving Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana, Page made his surprise appearance and attacked Strickland. Page’s attack did not break the no contact rule that had been put in place ahead of their match at this Saturday’s Full Gear 2023 event due to it taking place outside of an AEW event.
