Roman Reigns Reportedly Not Scheduled for WWE Survivor Series 2023
Roman Reigns reportedly is currently not scheduled to work at WWE’s Survivor Series 2023 event next month in Chicago, Illinois, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that his sources stated that WWE officials currently do not have any plans for Reigns to work at next month’s event. Meltzer reported that this is notable due to Survivor Series’ status as a traditional Big Four event for WWE.
Meltzer reported that following next month’s Crown Jewel 2023 event, Reigns’ next scheduled title defense for his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship would not be until next year’s Royal Rumble event.
Randy Orton Back Injury & WWE Return Status Update
As noted before, Randy Orton has been out of action for WWE since May of 2022 due to a back injury and had underwent back fusion surgery this past November. Orton and WWE officials have targeted a potential return date by next month’s Survivor Series 2023 event.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources spoken to stated that WWE officials still have a suggested time frame of Survivor Series 2023 for Orton’s official return from injury.
Meltzer reported that Orton’s doctors had recently suggested to him that he retire due to his back issues but Orton refused and currently wants to wrestle until he’s 50 years old if possible.
