Two Updated Matches & Five New Matches Announced for NXT Halloween Havoc 2023
Tuesday’s NXT show featured two updated matches and five new matches announced for the card of NXT Halloween Havoc 2023, which takes place on October 24th and October 31st.
In regards to the newly updated matches, the first new match is a NXT Tag Team Championship match of Chase U (Andre Chase & Duke Hudson) vs. Tony D’Angelo & Stacks (c).
This match was initially setup during a backstage promo segment on last week’s NXT show involving D’Angelo asking special guest NXT General Manager Cody Rhodes to book a battle royal match to determine the number one contender for their NXT Tag Team titles at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023 Week 1. During tonight’s NXT show, Chase U defeated Humberto & Garza to win the Bada Bing Bada Boom Battle Royal match and earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team titles at Night 1 of NXT Halloween Havoc 2023.

The second new updated match is a NXT Championship match of Carmelo Hayes vs. Ilja Dragunov (c).
This match was initially setup following special guest NXT GM Cody Rhodes announcing a #1 Contender Triple Threat match for the NXT Championship involving Hayes, Baron Corbin, and Dijak. During tonight’s show, NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov interrupted Hayes, Corbin, and Dijak’s in-ring bickering promo and revealed that Rhodes’ last act as GM of NXT was to make this match into a Fatal Four-way instead with Trick Williams being added into the match. Later in the show, Williams was seen lying on the ground in pain after being taken out by a mystery attacker and was attended to by NXT officials while Hayes stood next to him. Williams was later stated to have been taken to a local medical facility and turning the Fatal Four-way match back into a Triple Threat match, which was won by Hayes.
In regards to the new matches, the first match was announced to be a Lights Out match of Blair Davenport vs. Gigi Dolin.
This match was setup following a video promo segment by Davenport who claimed that her rivalry with Dolin is not over and Dolin only won last week due to an incompetent referee. Davenport stated that she does not want to erase Dolin’s victory but instead end her and challenged Dolin to a match at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023. In a follow-up backstage segment, Dolin gave her thoughts about Davenport’s challenge earlier and upped the stakes by revealing a “Spin the Wheel, Make a Deal” wheel and spun it revealing that their match will be held as a Lights Out match.

The second match was announced to be a Devil’s Playground match of Kiana James vs. Roxanne Perez.
This match was setup following a backstage segment involving Perez and Shotzi that featured a “Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal” wheel. After some chatter between Shotzi and Perez over Perez costing James her match against Shozti earlier in the show, Shotzi let Perez spin the wheel to determine the stipulation for her match against James at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023. This was revealed to be a Devil’s Playground match.
The third new match announced was a singles match of Mr. Stone vs. Bron Breakker.
This match was setup following a backstage segment involving Mr. Stone and Breakker. Mr. Stone interrupted Breakker’s backstage interview segment and got into a heated argument over Breakker bashing Von Wagner’s head with steel steps last month and putting Wagner’s NXT career in jeopardy. After some heated words, Mr. Stone challenged Breakker for a match between the two at NXT Halloween Havoc 2023, which Breakker accepted.
