Jade Cargill Reportedly Heading to WWE This Week
As noted before, Jade Cargill is currently expected to be leaving AEW and heading to WWE following the expiration of her contract, which is believed to have been this past Wednesday.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources confirmed that Cargill’s contract with AEW expired last week.
Those spoken to within WWE reportedly stated that Cargill is currently expected to report to WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week.
WWE Reportedly to Hold PLE Event in Australia in Early 2024
WWE reportedly is currently planning to hold a new Premium Live Event in Australia in early 2024, according to The West Australian.
It was reported that their sources stated that WWE is “just days away” from making an official announcement regarding them holding a PLE event at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia in early 2024. It was also reported that this upcoming event is currently scheduled to take place prior to next year’s WrestleMania 40 event.
It was also reported that WWE officials and Perth local government officials have been in negotiations for some time regarding WWE holding an event in their city that would be subsidized by the local government.
Edge’s WWE Contract Status Update & Reason for Roster Profile Initial Removal
As noted before, Edge’s contract with WWE is currently expected to expire at the end of this September.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that his sources stated that the reason why Edge’s roster profile was initially removed from WWE’s official roster page was due to a simple mistake on WWE’s end. This reportedly was stated to have been a premature move by WWE officials due to Edge is still under a contract with the company.
In regards to the future of Edge’s career in WWE, Meltzer reported that it is currently not known if Edge will sign a new deal to remain in WWE or leave for a rumored AEW destination.
