More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for August 30th
The August 30th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a small increase in key demographic ratings and a slight increase in overall viewership but also suffered a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 871,000 viewers and a 0.30 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 1st place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s mixed results this past week was due to the large declines from their younger male key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 21.5% and 35.9% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the gains from their younger female key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups which were up 10.6% and 9% respectively compared to last week’s show. Meltzer reported that The Big Bang Theory drew 801,000 and a 0.14 key demographic rating for lead-in programming ratings for Dynamite that night.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2023 U.S. Open drew 858,000 viewers on ESPN, the NCAA Women’s Volleyball game of Omaha vs. Nebraska drew 518,000 viewers on Big Ten Network, and Real Housewives of Orange County drew 723,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 389,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 was 84,000 viewers (down 21.5%), Females 18-34 was 52,000 viewers (up 10.6%), Males 35-49 was 193,000 viewers (up 9%), and Females 35-49 was 59,000 viewers (down 35.9%). Meltzer reported that AEW’s male/female viewership split was 277,000 male viewers and 111,000 female viewers for a split of 71.5% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 957,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 763,000 viewers for their seventh quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 14.6% in overall viewership and down 15.4% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 20.5% compared to the same week last year.

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for August 25th
The August 25th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and key demographic rankings and a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 348,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 23rd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines that week was due to tougher than usual competition that night from NFL Preseason games. Another reason reportedly was due to the large declines from their younger male key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 41.7% and 29.4% respectively compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NFL Preseason game of Carolina Panthers vs. Detroit Lions drew 3,697,000 viewers on CBS, the NFL Preseason game of Los Angeles Chargers vs. San Francisco 49ers drew 785,000 viewers on NFL Network, 90 Day Fiance drew 617,000 viewers on TLC, and House Hunters drew 1,045,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 139,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 14,000 viewers (down 41.7%), Females 18-34 had 21,000 viewers (up 16.7%), AEW’s Males 35-49 had 71,000 viewers (down 14.5%), and Females 18-35 had 34,000 viewers (down 29.4%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 85,000 male viewers and 55,000 female viewers for a split of 60.4% in favor of males.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 19.3% in overall viewership and down 2.8% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 37.5% compared to the same week last year.

The August 26th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a large increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic rankings but suffered a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 552,000 viewers and a 0.16 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 10th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s mixed results that week was due to the large gains from their Over 50 viewership and older female key demographic viewership, which was up 33.3% for the latter compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly mostly offset the large decline from their younger key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were down 22.1% and 13.6% respectively compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the NFL Preseason game of New York Jets vs. New York Giants drew 1,732,000 viewers on NFL Network, the NFL Preseason game of Los Angeles Rams vs. Denver Broncos drew 1,313,000 viewers on NFL Network, Saturday Night Baseball drew 2,033,000 viewers on FOX, and the College Football game of UMASS vs. New Mexico State drew 582,000 viewers on ESPN.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 203,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 39,000 viewers (down 33.1%), Females 18-34 had 21,000 viewers (down 8.7%), Males 35-49 had 95,000 viewers (down 13.6%), and Females 35-49 had 48,000 viewers (up 33.3%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 134,000 male viewers and 69,000 female viewers for a split of 66% in favor of males.
