WWE SummerSlam 2023 Notes: LA Knight Wins Slim Jim Battle Royal, IYO Cashes In MitB & Wins Women’s Title

LA Knight Wins SummerSlam Battle Royal Match

Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2023 event at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan featured LA Knight winning the Slim Jim sponsored SummerSlam Battle Royal match.

The Final Four for this 25-Man Battle Royal featured Knight, Sheamus, AJ Styles, and Bronson Reed.

The finish to this match involved Sheamus going to the top for a high flying spot only to be stopped b y Knight who leaped up and hit a Super Overhead Suplex. Knight then hit a clothesline to Sheamus over the ropes for the final elimination to be crowned the winner of the SummerSlam Battle Royal match.

IYO SKY Cashes In Women’s MitB Case, Wins WWE Women’s Title

Saturday’s SummerSlam 2023 event also featured Bianca Belair and then IYO SKY become the new WWE Women’s Champion.

In regards to the WWE Women’s Championship Triple Threat match, the finish to this match involved Charlotte Flair applying a Figure Eight to the injured leg of Blair only to receive a Mist attack by Asuka to break up the hold. While Asuka was celebrating what she had done, Belair rolled-up Asuka for the pinfall victory to become the new champion.

Before Belair had any time to celebrate, Damage CTRL’s theme played and SKY and Bayley came out. Bayley attacked Flair, Asuka, and Belair with the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase and SKY struck Belair’s knee with the briefcase afterwards.SKY then hit a moonsault from the top rope onto Belair for the pinfall victory to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
