Tammy Sytch DUI Arrest Update – Sytch Pleaded No Contest to DUI Charges
As noted before, former wrestler Tammy Sytch was arrested this past May in Florida following a police investigation into a fatal car accident involving Sytch in March of 2022.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Sytch pleaded nolo contendere (no contest) to the DUI charges against her in court this past Wednesday based on recent court records.
Johnson reported that Sytch had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges prior to her plea change. Nolo Contendere is defined in legal terms as “a plea by which a defendant accepts conviction as though a guilty plea had been entered but does not admit fault or guilt.”
The State of Florida reportedly accepted Sytch’s plea deal and as part of the terms, all of her remaining misdemeanors charges will have Sytch’s served time behind bars be counted as her sentence for those crimes.
In regards to the felony charges against her, Johnson reported that Sytch is currently facing the possibility of up to 25 years in prison if convicted of these charges. In a follow-up report, Johnson reported that Sytch would be required to serve a minimum of 4 years in prison if she is convicted under current Florida law.
Billy Corgan Comments on His Belief of NWA Being Positioned as Next Big Company in Wrestling
A recent episode of the Insight with Chris Van Vliet podcast featured National Wrestling Alliance owner Billy Corgan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Corgan’s thoughts about his belief that the NWA is likely positioned to become the next big company in the wrestling industry.
“I think we’re probably positioned to be the next big company. I know will kind of go, ‘How does that work?’ I think it has to do with my access to mainstream media. I think it has to do with my access to every network in the world who’s interested in what I’m doing, and I’m just trying to find the right business models with them. I think it has to do with presenting a mainstream wrestling product that the average person, if presented it on television, will respond to. I think once the NWA can get in that position, if we can get in that position, you can argue that’s a big if, but if we get in that position, I think we will run side-by-side with the biggest companies in the world. Because wrestling by in large is a cheap product to make. That’s always been its great attraction to television. It has a consistent audience that will show up week after week. So getting from let’s call it the bottom of the pile to the top of the pile, that’s a vast distance. But if you can cross that desert and get to the other side, well, it’s pretty wide open.
In terms of product, I think the NWA fits quite comfortably between AEW and WWE. WWE has a very hardcore fanbase, but they do business in a very particular way. Of course, that’s much debated through the years. Vince of course is the only promoter that’s ever made money in wrestling, so we always have to pay tribute. AEW of course is running a brand-specific product. Tony’s found business where people didn’t think business could be found, and all credit to him on that. But again that mainstream up-the-middle position in professional wrestling is sorely lacking. Many people would argue that WWE is that mainstream thing. I would argue it’s its own version of niche.”

Real1 stated “This Saturday is my debut (for NJPW), technically speaking, in-ring debut because when I jumped over that guardrail (at ROH x NJPW G1 Supercard), I never quite made it into the ring. So this time, I’m going to be getting in the ring on Saturday with New Japan. I’m grateful for the opportunity honestly. Me being gracious is something you don’t hear too much; humility and humbleness when I cut promos and start talking but I have the utmost respect for what it is that they do in New Japan and the way that it’s done and the honor that it holds and how long they’ve been doing it. A standard of success. It’s a precedent that has been set in the business internationally…” Real1 also gave his thoughts on the potential of working at a Tokyo Dome event for NJPW in the future. Real1 stated “If I get an opportunity from Rocky Romero to go out there (at NJPW All Star Junior Festival) and do what I do, I guarantee you I end up over in Japan in the Tokyo Dome in front of a hundred f*cking thousand people and taking everything that I deserve that should be f*cking mine. You guys wanna put me through hell, drag my name through the f*cking mud. When you mention my name and you write an article and you say something like, oh, ‘And he was released from the company due to an accusation’ and f*cking sexual — you f*cking idiot! It was a tweet, the police never called me, never went to court, never had a f*cking trial. I got fired because of you! The same people who got me on TV, the people.” (Transcript h/t: PostWrestling.com)
