Tuesday’s NXT show featured two new matches and two updated matches officially announced for the card of WWE’s NXT Great American Bash 2023 event on July 30th in Cedar Park, Texas.
In regards to the new matches, the first new match announced was a singles match of Baron Corbin vs. Gable Steveson.
This match was setup during an in-ring promo segment by Steveson and Corbin. Steveson gave a speech introducing himself to the crowd and stated that he had decision to make regarding the future of his career. Steveson stated that he could compete in next year’s Olympic Games and become the first two time Olympic Gold Medalist in US Olympic wrestling history, go back to college to become a potential three-time NCAA wrestling champion, or he can make his decision right now implying a career in NXT. Corbin came out and interrupted telling Steveson to just go back to college or the Olympics and not pick NXT. Corbin stated that he would make Gable do something that he has never done before and fail if he perused a career in NXT. After some banter between the two, Steveson stated that Corbin made his decision easy and challenged him to a match at this Sunday’s Great American Bash 2023 event. Steveson and Corbin then got into a brief scuffle with Steveson standing tall in the end.

The second new match announced is an Eight Person Tag Team match of Nathan Frazer, Dragon Lee Valentina Feroz & Yulisa León vs. The Meta-Four (Noam Dar, Oro Mensah, Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson)
This match was setup during an in-ring segment involving Meta-Four trying to cheer up a very dejected and wheelchair bound Dar while bashing Fraszer for taking the NXT Heritage Cup they claimed still rightfully belonged to Dar. Legend then presented Dar with a Heritage Cup which led to Dar springing back to life and Jackson saying that he was the Undisputed Heritage Cup Champion. A newly reinvigorated Dar stated that he was still the star player and the only real champion. This led to Frazer and Lee coming out to interrupt and after some banter, a brawl broke after Feroz and Leon came out from behind and attacked Legend and Jackson.
In regards to the updated matches, the first updated match was announced to to be a NXT North American Championship Triple Threat match of Wes Lee vs. Mustafa Ali vs. Domink Mysterio (c).
This match was setup during an in-ring promo segment involving Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, Lee, and Ali. Following Ripley and Mysterio boasting about how Judgement Day runs all of WWE, Lee came out and interrupted stating that he hates seeing the NXT North American Championship in Mysterio’s hands since that belt had represented hard work and opportunity. After some brief banter between Lee and Ripley, Ali came out and interrupted and berated Dom for being a thief. Ali also slipped out that he was also upset that he wasn’t the one to beat Lee for the title which led to Lee getting upset and some heated banter between the two. Mysterio interrupted stating that he does not mind who he faces for his title at Great American Bash and “Mami” even says he can defend his title against both of them.
