More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for July 26th
The July 26th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and a small decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 898,000 viewers and a 0.29 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 2nd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s declines this week was due to stiff sports competition from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the large declines from their younger female key demographic viewership, older male key demographic viewership, and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were down 28.8%, 21.6%, and 12,3% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the gain from their younger male key demographic viewership group, which was up 5.5% compared to last week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup game of United States vs. Netherlands drew 6,429,000 viewers on FOX and 1,165,000 viewers on Telemundo, the MLB game of New York Yankees vs. New York Mets drew 1,206,000 viewers on ESPN, Air Jaws Final Frontier drew 835,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Florida Shark drew 920,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, Sista Series drew 1,056,000 viewers on BET, and Real Housewives of Orange County drew 770,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 383,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 115,000 viewers (up 5.5%), Females 18-34 had 47,000 viewers (down 28.8%), Males 35-49 had 156,000 viewers (down 21.6%), and Females 35-49 had 64,000 viewers (down 12.3%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership split was 271,000 male viewers and 111,000 female viewers for a split of 70.8% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 997,000 viewers for their third quarter while their quarter low was at 781,000 viewers for their eighth quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 8% in overall viewership and down 12.4% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was equal compared to the same week last year.

- 2Q – 975,000 overall viewers and 422,000 key demo viewers (Ending of the AEW International Championship match & post-match brawl with Jon Moxley, the Don Callis & Chris Jericho backstage interview segment, and the HOOK video segment)
- 3Q – 997,000 overall viewers and 441,000 key demo viewers (Blackpool Combat Club backstage promo segment, the Jack Perry & Jerry Lynn promo segment, the Britt Baker backstage interview segment, and the bulk of the PAC vs. Gravity match)
- 4Q – 863,000 overall viewers and 375,000 key demo viewers (Ending of the PAC vs. Gravity match, the MJF, Adam Cole, & Roderick Strong backstage promo segment, and the FTR video promo segment)
- 5Q – 911,000 overall viewers and 396,000 key demo viewers (Swerve Strickland vs. Darby Allin match)
- 6Q – 855,000 overall viewers and 372,000 key demo viewers (Strickland vs. Allin post-match brawl with Nick Wayne & AR Fox, the Jericho Appreciation Society backstage segment, and the start of the Taya Valkyrie vs. Britt Baker match)

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for July 21st
The July 21st episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a slight increase in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 415,000 viewers and a 0.11 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night is currently not known.
Detailed viewership and key demographic breakdowns were not available in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
Dave Meltzer reported that the main reason for AEW’s increases that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership group, which was up 46.4% compared to the prior week’s show. Another reason reportedly was due to the large gains from their older key demographic viewership and Over 50 viewership groups, which the percentages were not given.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 143,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that week’s Rampage did not rank in the youngest skewing sports shows for the week while that week’s Dynamite show was the fourth youngest skewing sports show.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 3% in overall viewership and down 33.5% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 26.8% compared to the same week last year.
AEW Rampage quarter hour viewership breakdowns were:
- 1Q – 473,000 overall viewers and 137,000 key demo viewers (First part of the 20-Man Royal Rampage match)
- 2Q – 447,000 overall viewers and 157,000 key demo viewers (Second part of the 20-Man Royal Rampage match)
- 3Q – 379,000 overall viewers and 146,000 key demo viewers (Ending of the 20-Man Royal Rampage match and the bulk of The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn vs. QTV Trios match,
- 4Q – 360,000 overall viewers and 130,000 key demo viewers (Ending of The Acclaimed vs. QTV Trios match and the TBS Championship match of Marina Shafir vs. Kris Statlander (c))
More on AEW Collision Viewership for July 22nd
The July 22nd episode of AEW Collision saw AEW gain a small increase in overall viewership but suffered a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 618,000 viewers and a 0.18 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 4th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s mixed results that week was due to the large gains from their younger key demographic viewership and older female key demographic viewership groups, which were up 21% and 14% compared to the prior week’s show. This mostly offset the large decline from their older male key demographic viewership group, which was down 32.6% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, Saturday Night Baseball game drew 1,760,000 viewers on FOX.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 237,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 62,000 viewers (up 21.6%), Females 18-34 had 36,000 viewers (up 20%), Males 35-49 had 91,000 viewers (down 32.6%), and Females 35-49 had 49,000 viewers (up 14%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 153,000 male viewers and 85,000 female viewers for a split of 64.1% in favor of males.
