More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for July 19th
The July 19th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW gain a very large increase in overall viewership and a small increase in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 953,000 viewers and a 0.34 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 2nd place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s increases this week was due to a weaker than usual competition and general television viewership for that night and the large gains from their younger female key demographic viewership and older male key demographic viewership groups, which were up 65% and 22.1% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly offset the decline from their younger male key demographic viewership, which was down 11.9% compared to last week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, Real Housewives of Orange County drew 667,000 viewers on BRAVO.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 441,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 104,000 viewers (down 11.9%), Females 18-34 had 66,000 viewers (up 65%), Males 35-49 had 199,000 viewers (up 22.1%), and Females 35-49 had 73,000 viewers (up 10.6%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership split was 303,000 male viewers (up 8.6%) and 139,000 female viewers (up 31.1%) for a split of 68.7% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 980,000 viewers for their sixth quarter and overrun while their quarter low was at 915,000 viewers for their second quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was up 4.7% in overall viewership and up 4% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 42.9% compared to the same week last year.

- 4Q – 967,000 overall viewers and 464,000 key demo viewers (Ending of the Blind Tag Team Tournament Finals match and post-match angles with Chris Jericho, Cole and MJF, & FTR)

The July 14th episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW suffer a large decline in overall viewership and a slight decline in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 310,000 viewers and a 0.10 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night is currently not known.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s declines was due to the very large decline from their female key demographic viewership group, which was down 53.5% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the gains from their male key demographic viewership group, which was up 5.7% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 125,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 22,000 viewers (up 22.2%), Females 18-34 had 6,000 viewers (down 64.7%), Males 35-49 had 70,000 viewers (up 1.4%), and Females 35-49 had 27,000 viewers (down 50%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 92,000 male viewers (up 5.7%) and 33,000 female viewers (down 53.5%) for a split of 73.6% in favor of males. Meltzer also reported that week’s Rampage did not rank in the youngest skewing sports shows for the week while that week’s Dynamite show was the seventh youngest skewing sports show, behind the 2023 Wimbledon Men’s Finals, one Sunday Night Baseball game, one 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup soccer game, one UFC event, and two 2023 MLB Home Run Derby shows.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 28.7% in overall viewership and down 31.7% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was down 33.3% compared to the same week last year.
AEW Rampage quarter hour viewership breakdowns were:
- 1Q – 353,000 overall viewers and 139,000 key demo viewers (Dustin Rhodes & Keith Lee vs. Matt Menard & Angelo Parker tag team match, the QTV video promo segment, and the Taya Valkyrie vs. Izzy McQueen match)

The July 15th episode of AEW Collision saw AEW suffer slight declines in overall viewership and key demographic ratings but gained a slight increase in key demographic rankings.
AEW drew 579,000 viewers and a 0.20 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 4th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reasons for AEW’s declines that week was due to the large decline from their younger key demographic viewership group, which wad down 23.6% compared to the prior week’s show. This reportedly offset the gain from their older key demographic viewership group, which was up 8% compared to the prior week’s show.
In terms of notable head-to-head competition, the UFC prelims drew 745,000 viewers on ESPN and the Saturday Night Baseball game drew 2,080,000 viewers on FOX.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 258,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 51,000 viewers (down 21.5%), Females 18-34 had 30,000 viewers (down 26.8%), Males 35-49 had 135,000 viewers (up 8%), and Females 35-49 had 43,000 viewers (down 10.3%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 185,000 male viewers (down 3.7%) and 73,000 female viewers (down 18%) for a split of 71.7% in favor of males.

AEW’s Battle of the Belts VII show on July 15th drew 524,000 viewers and a 0.15 key demographic rating on TNT.

Dave Meltzer reported that due to satellite-related issues involving a thunderstorm hitting Calgary during the show, Battle of the Belts VII ended up being broken up into two separate shows for cable ratings data gathering by Nielsen. This issue reportedly occurred after the first 36 minutes of the show. Meltzer reported that the first 36 minutes of the show drew 560,000 viewers and a 0.15 rating while the final 27 minutes of the show drew 467,000 viewers and a 0.13 rating.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW drew 196,000 viewers.
