Five New Champions Crowned at Imapct Slammiversary 2023
Saturday’s Slammiversary 2023 event for Impact Wrestling in Windsor, Ontario, Canada featured six Impact championships on the line. Of those six championships, five changed hands during the show.
These title changes were:
- Kenny King defeating Joe Hendry to be crowned the new Impact Digital Media Champion during Slammiversary’s pre-show.
- Masha Slamovich & Killer Kelly defeating The Coven to become the new Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Champions.
- Lio Rush defeating Chris Sabin to become the new Impact X-Division Champion.
- SUBCULTURE defeating Moose & Brian Myers, Rich Swann & Sami Callihan, and ABC in a Four-way match to become the new Impact World Tag Team Champions.
- And the final title to change hands involved Trinity defeating Deonna Purrazzo to become the new Impact Knockouts World Champion.
Jake Something, Eric Young, & Josh Alexander Make Surprise Returns at Slammiversary 2023
Saturday’s Slammiversary 2023 event also featured Jake Something, Eric Young, and Josh Alexander making their surprise returns to Impact.
In regards to Something, he made his surprise return as the unannounced sixth competitor in the Ultimate X match for the #1 Contender for the Impact X-Division Championship. This match was originally advertised to feature five competitors who were Jonathan Gresham, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, Alan Angels, and KUSHIDA.

This was Something’s first appearance in Impact since March of 2022.
In regards to Young, he made his surprise return to Impac as the mystery partner for Scott D’Amore for his tag team match against Bully Ray & Deaner.

This was Young’s first appearance for Impact since this past November. Prior to his return, Young had been signed to a contract with WWE but never made his on-screen return to the company.
Following Alex Shelley retaining his Impact World Championship over Nick Aldis in the main event, Josh Alexander made his surprise return. Alexander walked into the ring and had a staredown with Shelley announcing that he was back.

This was Alexander’s first appearance in Impact since this past March due to a triceps tear injury.
