The first new match announced is an AEW Women’s World Championship match of Taya Valkyrie vs. Toni Storm (c).
This match was setup following Valkyrie’s quick victory over . Valkyrie’s victory celebration was cut short by The Outcasts’ Toni Storm and Saraya who came out to confront Valkyrie in the ring and insulted Valkyrie for being a Canadian loser. Before Archer could continue, Jake Roberts interrupted and told Archer to not hurt the golden goose until this Saturday’s Battle of the Belts VII show. Friday’s Rampage show in Saskatoon also featured Willow Nightingale defeating in a Semifinals Round match for this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.
The finish to this match involved Athena hitting a series of chops to Nightingale only for Nightingale to shrug it off and deliver a body slam in return. Nightingale attempted to hit a Swanton Bomb onto Athena only for Athena to dodge and hit a standing moonsault and a crossface right after. Nightingale was able to escape the hold by countering it into an Inside Cradle for a near fall and then hit a Death Valley Driver right afterwards for another near fall. Athena managed to setup Nightingale for an overhead Code Breaker only for Nightingale to escape as Athena was falling downwards. This led to Nightingale quickly doing an Inside Cradle for the pinfall victory and advancing to the finals of this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament.
