WWE Announces Indianapolis to Host Fastlane 2023 This October

WWE recently announced that they will be holding a new Fastlane branded event on October 7th at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

This announcement was first made on Tuesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show by co-host Pat McAfee and later confirmed by WWE.

STAMFORD, Conn., June 20, 2023 ā€“ WWEĀ® (NYSE: WWE) today announced that WWE Fastlane will take place Saturday, October 7 from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. It marks the first premium live event to emanate from Indianapolis in seven years. WWE Fastlane will stream live exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and WWE Network everywhere else.

This will be the first time that WWE will be holding a Fastlane branded event since 2021.


Dakota Kai Injury Status Update

As noted before, Dakota Kai has been out of action for WWE since this past May due to a torn ACL injury.

Kai recently provided an injury update on Twitter stating that she no longer requires the assistance of a brace on her knee following her recovery from knee surgery.

Tuesday’s The Pat McAfee Show was notable for Seth Rollins absence despite him being advertised by WWE to make an appearance on the show. Rollins provided an update on Twitter stating that the reason for his absence was due to travel-related issues.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon had made some late changes to the original plans for this past Monday’s RAW show in Cleveland, Ohio. It was reported that some of these changes were described to be “drastic changes” with one specifically involving the opening segment being different than what was originally planned. In a follow-up report, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Johnny Gargano was never actually planned to be the mystery challenger for the original plans for Rollins’ open challenge for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the show.

Fightful Select also reported that their sources stated that the recent rumors and reports of Hit Row having backstage heat within WWE is not true. Those spoken to reportedly stated that the lack of significant creative plans for Hit Row is not due to any specific reason nor is it out of the ordinary for WWE management. One source spoken to reportedly stated that Hit Row and other talents brought back last year were primarily done to provide added depth and prevent “rematch-heavy shows” from taking place under the new regime at the time.

As noted before, Rhea Ripley has been dealing with recurring knee-related issues for quite some time. Fightful Select reported that those spoken to within WWE did not confirm nor deny if Ripley not wrestling as much on WWE television is due to her kneecap issues. Those same sources reportedly stated that Ripley has been wrestling at WWE live events of late.

This past Monday’s RAW show in Cleveland, Ohio featured a main event Six-Man Tag Team match of Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, & Sami Zayn vs. The Judgement Day, which was won by Rhodes, Owens, & Zayn. Following the show, Owens gave a promo to the live crowd paying tribute to Cleveland-based indie promotion AIW for the impact they had on his career.

In a recent interview with FloWrestling, NXT talent Gable Steveson stated that he currently intends to use his final year of NCAA eligibility. It was reported that Steveson still has to sort of scheduling details with WWE before any potential return to collegiate wrestling is official.
