WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon reportedly was in attendance backstage at Monday’s WWE RAW show in Hartford, Connecticut, according to PWInsider.
Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that besides McMahon, a lot of other WWE executives were also seen backstage at the show. Johnson stated that the likely reason for McMahon’s in-person visit was due to the close proximity of the show taking place near WWE’s headquarters in Stamford.
In regards to the backstage reaction to McMahon’s visit, Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there had been talks among talent throughout the afternoon that McMahon would be at the show. It was reported that as of around 6PM EST, many of the talent and staff backstage had not seen McMahon but did see a room that was being prepared for someone to work out of for that night’s tapings. This room reportedly ended up being McMahon’s office for the show. McMahon reportedly was also seen in the Gorilla position running the show as well.
It was reported that most of the staff and talent in attendance backstage were not surprised over McMahon’s visit due to the show’s close proximity to where McMahon lives. Most staff and talent reportedly also currently do not expect him to regularly be in attendance backstage at shows due to him being fine making changes to shows from his remote location in recent weeks.
In regards to the general mood, it was reported that those spoken to stated that it was much less hectic compared to the infamous RAW After Mania show this past April in Los Angeles, California.
