More on AEW Dynamite Viewership for June 7
The June 7th episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW suffer a slight decline in overall viewership and key demographic ranking but gained a small increase in key demographic ratings.
AEW drew 903,000 viewers and a 0.33 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 4th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the reason for AEW’s mixed results this week was due to the large increases from their female key demographic viewership and younger key demographic viewership groups, which were up 57.8% and 42.9% respectively compared to last week’s show. This reportedly mostly offset the very stiff competition from the 2023 NBA Finals game and Vanderpump Rules season finale that night and the declines from their older male key demographic viewership and Over 50 viewership groups, which were down 11.1% and 14.3% respectively compared to last week’s show.
In terms of head-to-head competition, the 2023 NBA Finals Game 3 of Denver Nuggets vs. Miami Heat drew 11,237,000 viewers on ABC, the MLB simulcast games of New York Mets vs. Atlanta and Houston vs. Toronto drew 162,000 viewers on MLB Network, the 2023 NCAA Softball World Series Game 1 of Florida State vs. Oklahoma drew 1,337,000 viewers on ESPN, Vanderpump Rules drew 1,998,000 viewers on Bravo, Real Housewives of Orange County drew 1,032,000 viewers on Bravo, Sistas Series drew 808,000 viewers on BET, Dr. Pimple Popper drew 1,144,000 viewers on TLC, and Expedition Unknown drew 949,000 viewers Discovery Channel.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 435,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 125,000 viewers (up 31.6%), Females 18-34 had 65,000 viewers (up 71.1%), Males 35-49 had 168,000 viewers (down 11.1%), and Females 35-49 had 77,000 viewers (up 48.1%). Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership split was 293,000 male viewers (up 6.9%) and 142,000 female viewers (up 57.8%) for a split of 67.4% in favor of males.
In terms of the one million viewership milestone, none of AEW’s eight quarters drew one million or more viewers. AEW’s peak quarter hour viewership was at 962,000 viewers for their first quarter while their quarter low was at 845,000 viewers for their eighth quarter.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 3.8% in overall viewership and down 2.2% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 35.7% compared to the same week last year.

- 3Q – 895,000 overall viewers and 444,000 key demo viewers (Blackpool Combat Club vs. CHAOS Trios match, the Young Bucks & Hangman Adam Page backstage promo segment, and the Bryan Danielson promo segment)
- 4Q – 955,000 overall viewers and 429,000 key demo viewers (Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay match hype video segment and the bulk of the MJF & Adam Cole promo segment)
- 5Q – 929,000 overall viewers and 444,000 key demo viewers (Ending of the MJF & Cole promo segment, the Hardys, Isaiah Kassidy, & Ethan Page backstage promo segment, and the start of the Texas Tornado Tag Team match of “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry & HOOK vs. La Faccion Ingoberable)

More on AEW Rampage Viewership for June 2nd
The June 2nd episode of AEW Rampage saw AEW gain a slight increase in key demographic ratings and key demographic rankings but also suffered a large drop in overall viewership.
AEW drew 357,000 viewers and a 0.12 key demographic rating on TBS. AEW’s key demographic ranking for that night was 12th place.
Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the main reason for AEW’s mixed results was due to the large declines from their younger key demographic viewership and Over 50 viewership groups, which were down 16.3% and 22.7% respectively compared to the prior week’s show. Another reason reportedly was due to the decline from their male key demographic viewership group, which was down 2.8% compared to last week’s show. This reportedly mostly offset the gains from their female key demographic viewership and older key demographic viewership groups, which were up 29.7% and 16% respectively compared to last week’s show.
In terms of head-to-head competition, the 2023 College Softball World Series Tournament game of Utah vs. Oklahoma State drew 908,000 viewers on ESPN, the MLB simulcast games of New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers and Baltimore vs. San Fransisco drew 209,000 viewers on MLB Network, On Patrol Live drew 791,000 viewers on REELZ Channel, Gold Rush White Water drew 691,000 viewers on Discovery Channel, House Hunters drew 932,000 viewers on Home and Garden TV, and 90 Day Fiance Special drew 475,000 viewers on TLC.
In terms of key demographic viewership, AEW had 150,000 viewers. AEW’s Males 18-34 had 35,000 viewers, Females 18-34 had 6,000 viewers, Males 35-49 had 68,000 viewers, and Females 35-49 had 42,000 viewers. Meltzer reported that the male/female viewership skew was 103,000 male viewers (down 2.8%) and 48,000 female viewers (up 29.2%) for a split of 68.2% in favor of males. Meltzer also reported that week’s Rampage did not rank in the youngest skewing sports shows for the week while that week’s Dynamite was the fourth youngest skewing sports show, behind one Cornhole event, one UFC event, and that week’s WWE RAW show.
In terms of yearly comparisons, AEW was down 24.8% in overall viewership and down 18% in key demographic viewership. Meltzer reported that AEW’s 18-34 viewership was up 16.3% compared to the same week last year.

- 3Q – 334,000 overall viewers and 141,000 key demo viewers (NJPW Strong Women’s Championship match of Emi Sakura vs. Willow Nightingale (c))
