Tony Khan Comments on Not Locking AEW Into a Roster Split for Dynamite & Collision
A recent episode of Barstool’s Rasslin’ podcast had AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts on him not drawing any hard lines or locking AEW into a roster split for Dynamite and Collision.
“I am going to feature certain talent on certain shows, but I haven’t drawn any hard lines or locked us into any kind of a split of a roster. I think people are going to be featured on certain shows, but I also think that gives us a great opportunity to showcase certain wrestlers on both Dynamite and Collision at certain times and certain stories that can cross the shows. I think the champions of AEW will be the champions on every show. And frankly, every promotion in the world. We’re not shy about the AEW wrestlers going out and taking on the top stars, top competition from other companies.”
Khan also gave his thoughts on what type of reaction he expects CM Punk will get for his official return to the company at their debut show for Collision and going forward.
“Well, I think it’ll be very exciting to see how the fans react. But I expect a very positive reaction, particularly in Chicago for the first episode. Then going forward, CM Punk is one of the most popular wrestlers in the world, so certainly he’s going to get a great reaction. And depending on who his opponent is and the type of reaction he’s trying to get, I expect CM Punk to connect with the crowd as well as anybody in the entire pro wrestling business. He has an amazing connection with the fans, and I think that’s part of his longevity and his mystique is his amazing connection with the crowd. CM Punk’s a really great wrestler and I’m very excited to have him back in AEW starting this Saturday night on TNT on AEW Collision.”

AEW Fight Forever Update
Fightful Select reported that their sources provided more details regarding AEW and Yukes’ upcoming AEW Fight Forever video game.
It was reported that those spoken to who have played the game currently believe that the game will be a success based on its playability and multi-player aspect more than anything else about it.
In regards to the game’s creation suite mode, it was reported that there had been some internal criticisms over issues regarding the feature being limited for player creations. These limitations reportedly included concerns over repetitive clothing displayed for other characters involved in the story mode and the story mode itself had faced some limitation for its creation. It was reported that the developer Yukes did take input from actual AEW talent for its development and those involved in the creative aspect of this mode had finished up work over a year ago.
It was also reported that the game contains several Easter eggs which were stated to include size-based characters and weapons and some that the developers believe will be difficult for fans to find initially. One specific Easter egg given reportedly involves the game’s Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch with the finish to the match having two options, which were stated to be “a stunning, brutal explosion, or a dud firework display a la AEW Revolution 2021.”
In regards to the game’s mini-games mode, it was reported that several of those who had worked on the game reportedly stated that Kenny Omega was the person who pushed for this to be included for the game. Omega reportedly also had insisted on bringing in Geta for the game’s development due to his past work on successful wrestling video games.
In regards to Trent Beretta recently accidentally revealing that the game is Steam Deck compatible, it was reported that their sources stated that Beretta’s comments were true.
