Classic Elton John Song Announced as Official Theme Song for AEW Collision

AEW CEO Tony Khan recently announced on Twitter that the official theme song for AEW’s upcoming new Collision television series is “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” by Elton John.

AEW also recently released the show intro video for their upcoming Collision series featuring John’s song.

Tony Khan Comments on CM Punk’s In-Ring Debut for AEW Collision

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about CM Punk’s upcoming in-ring return for the debut show of AEW Collision.

“For me, I always wanted to get CM Punk back in the ring and I’m really excited that it’s finally happening tomorrow night. I always wanted to make that happen and I’m glad it’s happening.”

Khan also gave his thoughts about Punk’s upcoming return being a great thing for AEW.

“I think so too. It’s going to be really great to have CM Punk back in Chicago and back in AEW. He’s a huge star and it’s going to be a really exciting night for the fans. We’re trying to build a tradition on Saturday night and bring Saturday night wrestling back. I think CM Punk will be a huge part of that.”

Samoa Joe on Renewing His Rivalry with CM Punk for Collision & CM Punk and Elite’s Backstage Issues with Each Other

Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with Samoa Joe. One of the topics discussed included Joe’s thoughts about him renewing his old rivalry with CM Punk for AEW’s new Collision television series.

“We’ve always competed to have the best match of the night, and that’s what we’re still competing to do. It was our ambition that brought us together. We were two young gentlemen who believed we were the best in the world and that we could take it to anybody. That was evident in the young versions of both of us, and it’s manifested to where we are today.
I understand the nature of the beast. It’s not a beast that’s easily tamed, so color me unsurprised. I don’t lie to myself and think that everybody acts the same way. People have their own interpretations of things. So color me unphased.
The guy’s my friend. He’s been my friend for years, and I have a lot of respect for him. But I understand the nature of the beast. I know what to expect.”

Joe also gave his thoughts about the backstage issues between CM Punk and The Elite in AEW.

“This isn’t a divide, it’s an argument between men. All those dudes don’t represent the entire genre of their generation. They have their own issues and their own problems. I don’t think it’s that deep. They’re grown-ass men. They have disagreements, they can figure it out or not. That’s between them.”

Joe also gave more thoughts about his old rivalry with CM Punk in Ring of Honor and renewing it for AEW.

“When you look at the breadth of our careers, there was a large span of time when we didn’t touch. Now we’re back together, doing what we do best. I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s picked up, I’m down to show him what I’ve picked up, and we’ll see how it all hashes out in the ring.”
