Tony Khan Comments on AEW Using Elton John Song for Collision’s Theme

A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast featured AEW CEO Tony Khan as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts on his decision to use “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” by Elton John as the official song for AEW’s new Collision television series.

“I’m not going to claim it was, but I will say it was the perfect fit for the show. I really wanted to get it. I love working with pro wrestling music rights. One thing we’ve done in AEW is bring a lot of awesome music into the world of pro wrestling on a weekly basis. You hear some legendary bands and songs every week on Dynamite, and now on AEW Collision, very fitting to have this amazing anthem, Elton John’s ‘Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting’ as the official theme song of Collision. It’s a really big deal and I’m very excited about this great opening theme we were able to get and people seem to love the show open. It felt to me it would be the perfect song and I really enjoy working on those kinds of things.”

Rebel Comments on Her Current Status in AEW

As noted before, Rebel has been absent from AEW for most of this current year due to creative-related reasons.

A recent episode of Taylor Wilde’s Wilde On podcast featured Rebel as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Rebel providing an update on the current status of her career in AEW.

“After I left IMPACT, I was like, ‘let’s try again,’ and I started doing hair and makeup and got thrown in front of the camera again. At this point, I have now said, ‘God, I hear you.’ I know now your will for me is this. I’m going to accept it and quit fighting it. I don’t do the hair and makeup anymore. Just strictly on-camera talent. That’s what I plan to keep doing. I’ve lost my passion for makeup and hair. I’ve had a ball at AEW. It’s a lot of fun.”
