Kenny Omega Comments on His Interest in Teaming Again with Kazuchika Okada
Sports Illustrated held a recent interview with Kenny Omega. One of the topics discussed included Omega’s thoughts on New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Kazuchika Okada recently using his “Goodbye and good night” catchphrase.
“Absolutely it did. I checked my text messages right away to see if there was something I wasn’t privy to.”
Omega also gave his thoughts about his interest in potentially teaming again with Kazuchika Okada for a match in the future.
“I wouldn’t be so quick to scratch his name off the list of guys I wouldn’t help. Our match together was a wild-card draft. It was a fun time. It felt to me like, ‘We had our thing. Our thing is done. I’ve said it before—Okada is very sharp. He is who he is for a reason. I had a lot of fun teaming with him at New Japan Dash, so I wouldn’t strike that off the list of potential people who I wouldn’t mind having their back.
We’re in completely separate divisions right now. I’m U.S. champion, and he’s competing for the IWGP heavy. It’s good to let us exist in our respective worlds and be comrades for a change.”
Brian Kendrick Comments on The Briscoe Brothers Legacy in Wrestling
Armbars & Sidebars held a recent interview with Brian Kendrick. One of the topics discussed included Kendrick’s thoughts on Jay Briscoe and the Briscoe Brothers’ legacy in wrestling.
“At least out of the tragedy, if nothing else, then it solidified some sort of infamy, I don’t know if that’s the right word. Now, now there’s a legacy, right? It’s because the story is done, now we can say ‘Wow what a great story’ and now it will be the tale of how these guys were underappreciated. They got to have a few great matches towards the end, which is nice, but yeah, it’s going to be a sad tale of what could have been.
They will now be sought after by wrestlers forever, and they should have been. As far as tag team wrestlers go, teams don’t stay together like that, that’s incredible. So, now they will go down, as they should have anyways, but I think this makes it without question that they’ll go down as guys that will be studied.”
