Living up to the Mysterio name, there is definitely some pressure that comes with it, but I’m out there having fun and doing what I can. I can’t get too caught up on the pressure and having to live up to the name because he’s done so much for the business and the Mysterio name, taking from Mexico, my uncle Rey Mysterio Sr. to making Rey Mysterio a worldwide name. Being able to take Dominik Mysterio and continue the legacy is a blessing. I’m very happy to be a part of it, and hopefully, I continue to do the name justice and slowly start erasing the name Rey Mysterio and keeping Dom Mysterio.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

It was really one of the biggest and best moments of my life, I really enjoyed that fight. I suffered. Yeah, I got hurt. I got hurt. My back, my back. My whole body, bro. My whole body. I felt that I was going to die after that match. I really thought that I was going to die after the match, but it’s part of it. I was prepared then, and now I’m going to drop a song. I know. The working relationship is really good, and that makes it easy for me. I still work for New Japan Strong in the U.S., but it’s not the same as being over there in Japan. It’s been so long. I need it. There are still a lot of big matchups. I’m really excited about it.” Moxley also gave his thoughts about his upcoming match at NJPW’s Resurgence 2023 event this Sunday in Long Beach, California. Hardy stated “I’m gonna give you a spoiler but I’m not gonna give you a spoiler. There was going to be a Willow cameo in here (Firm Deletion) and it would’ve been hilarious because you (Isiah Kassidy) know what it was. But we didn’t get to do it because of time constraints and weather. So we’ll just save it for the next time. But yes, there was going to be a Willow cameo at one point. The Willow moment was gonna be with Stokely (Hathaway) and I promise you, people would have pissed their pants in this moment. So I was really upset we didn’t get that in. But you know, it is what it is.” Hardy also stated that he had wished that AEW had allocated 30 minutes for the match for their May 5th Rampage show. Hardy stated “Yeah, it was (a great moment between Caprice Coleman & Stokely Hathaway that didn’t make the final cut of Firm Deletion). I do too. • In a recent interview with Fightful’s In the Weeds podcast, New Japan Pro Wrestling talent Alex Coughlin gave his thoughts about him being happy over the new direction for NJPW’s Strong brand. Coughlin stated “New Japan STRONG was fantastic for us. During the pandemic, it was a very dry period for a lot of people, New Japan included. I went to Japan once, and then international travel shut down. I wasn’t able to go over there and work the shows, so Rocky (Romero) and a few other people spearheaded it. The first couple of shows technically weren’t New Japan STRONG branded. We had a few shows, the STRONG name stuck, we did a few airings. It was great we had something to do, and it was a very different atmosphere with the no crowd tapings and nobody there versus a regular show with people. A different atmosphere, but with everybody there, it would be a bit more laid back. You learn different things and learn from different people. It’s a unique experience and a very good one, one that I’m very happy that I went through because you learn different things, that you normally wouldn’t have. Spending all that time around everybody there, it was a who’s who in the locker room, a lot of American talent or people able to come to the shows like Jay White, Juice Robinson, and those guys. I’m happy for the years we had, and looking what it’s turned into with the shows we’ve had, the pay-per-view in San Jose, the show this Sunday, Resurgence, the first Resurgence we had was our first show back with people in America. The Resurgence show is important to me, just as New Japan STRONG is important to me. I’m very excited for these shows and looking forward to the future.
  • Coughlin also gave his thoughts about the recent shift in focus for NJPW’s Strong brand. Coughlin stated “Schedule-wise, it’s similar to what we were doing. We show up, wrestle, and then they film it and air it. Now, it’s bigger shows with bigger names. I’m happy with that direction. it seems pretty consistent. Shows have been great. We’re getting big names. I’m happy and excited for how that’s going to go in the near future.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)
