No New Champions Crowned at WrestleMania 39 Night 2
Sunday’s WWE WrestleMania 39 Night 2 event featured three championship matches.
The first title match involved the RAW Women’s Championship between Asuka and championship Bianca Belair. This match resulted in Belair retaining her championship after a hard fought match.
The second title match involved the Intercontinental Championship between Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, and champion Gunther. This match resulted in Gunther retaining his championship in a grueling physical match and as a strong candidate for best match from both nights of WrestleMania 39.
The third and final title match involved the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship between Cody Rhodes and champion Roman Reigns. This match resulted in Reigns retaining his championship. Earlier in the match, Solo Sikoa was thrown out after the ref heard but did not see him whip Rhodes with a weight belt. Later in the match The Usos interfered after a ref bump spot and attack Rhodes only to be driven away by Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The finish to the match saw Paul Heyman distract the referee leading to Sikoa returning and hitting Rhodes with a Samoan Spike that resulted in Reigns hitting his Spear finisher to win the match. As a result of his win, Reigns’ reign of 946 days is still alive and he is now expected to reach the historic WWE Championship milestone of 1,000 days for a single reign.
Shane McMahon Makes Surprise Return, Gets Injured in Impromptu Match
Sunday’s WrestleMania 39 Night 2 event also featured Shane McMahon making his surprise return to WWE.
During a promo segment between WrestleMania 39 hosts The Miz and Snoop Dogg, Miz complained about his loss to Pat McAfee in an impromptu match and blamed Snoop Dogg for getting his expensive suit ruined last night. Following some heated banter between the two, Snoop Doog said he had another person waiting to beat up Miz.
This person was revealed to be Shane McMahon making his surprise return for an impromptu match.

Bobby Lashley Shows Up at WrestleMania 39, Smiles & Leaves
As noted before, Bobby Lashley issued an open challenge for a match at WrestleMania 39 following this past Friday’s SmackDown show in Los Angeles, California. Lashley was originally planned to face off against Bryan Wyatt at the event but these plans were dropped following Wyatt’s absence for an unknown “physical illness.”
During tonight’s WrestleMania 39 Night 2 show, Lashley made an appearance to celebrate his Andre the Giant Battle Royal win at this past Friday’s SmackDown show. After showing off his trophy and smiling to the crowd, the segment then abruptly ended.
Following his appearance, Lashey went on social media and liked several tweets from fans who were upset over Lashley’s underwhelming appearance and lack of a match at the event.
