As noted before, WWE announced on Monday that they have entered an agreement to sell their company to Endeavor, who is the parent company of UFC. As part of the terms of the deal, WWE and UFC will be merging into a new company with Vince McMahon remaining as WWE Executive Chairman.
Post Wrestling’s John Pollock reported that his sources stated that McMahon had sent an internal email to WWE’s employees on Monday stating that Paul “Triple H” Levesque will be retaining his current executive level position in the company. This email reportedly stated the line of “Paul Levesque will remain WWE’s chief content executive.”
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that WWE officials held two separate meetings with staff and talent prior to the start of Monday’s RAW show in Los Angeles, California.
The first meeting reportedly was for WWE’s employees and took place starting at 4PM EST. This meeting reportedly was led by Levesque, WWE CEO Nick Khan, and WWE President & CFO Frank Riddick. This meeting reportedly revolved around WWE employees being told that Endeavor would not be getting involved in the creative nor production of shows.
The second meeting reportedly was for WWE’s talents and took place starting at 6PM EST. Several RAW and SmackDown brand talent reportedly were not in attendance for this meeting due to them not being booked for Monday’s show as many of them were on a nearly ten day travel stretch. This meeting reportedly was led by Levesque and Khan who mostly discussed about WrestleMania 39’s record breaking numbers and promised nothing would change under Endeavor’s ownership. McMahon’s name reportedly was mentioned a few times when they listed the names of people in control of the new merged company but no specific details were given regarding his involvement going forward.
It was also reported that those leading the meetings did not take questions during either meeting.
