As noted before, this past Monday’s RAW After WrestleMania themed show in Los Angeles, California was notable for WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon having a heavy hand over the production and creative direction for the show.
Fightful Select reported that their sources confirmed a report from WRKD Wrestling that stated that McMahon also made changes to at least one planned match for this past Sunday’s WrestleMania 39 Night 2 show. This reportedly involved a match between Bobby Lashley and LA Knight being dropped. This reportedly was the reason why Lashley’s open challenge for a match at the event ended up not taking place and his only involvement on the show being him showing off his Andre the Giant trophy.
It was reported that Shozti’s tank had been originally planned to be part of Shozti and Natalya’s entrance for their Women’s Tag Team Showcase match at WrestleMania 39 but this plan was also dropped.
In regards to this past Monday’s RAW show, it was reported that WWE officials had originally planned for a LWO segment and a Cody Rhodes backstage segment to take place on the show before those plans were dropped prior to the start of the show. It was reported that WWE officials’ plans for a Women’s contender’s tournament to take place at the show were dropped around an hour prior to the show’s start. It was also reported that the Omos vs. Elias match was something that had been added at the last minute for the show.
In regards to the rumors and reports that Seth Rollins had been originally planned to give an in-ring promo segment on the show, those spoken to reportedly stated that this was never the actual plan. Rollins coming out to the ring to conduct the crowd singing his theme song and then quickly leaving afterwards reportedly was always the plan for that segment.
