This past Tuesday’s WWE NXT Spring Breakin 2023 show featured Indi Hartwell, Grayson Waller, and Sol Ruca all suffering injuries.
In regards to Hartwell, the Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported on Twitter that his sources stated that Hartwell’s ankle injury was legitimate. This injury occurred following a spot where Tiffany Stratton performed a top tope move to the outside and landed awkwardly on both Hartwell and Roxanne Perez.
Alvarez reported that while Hartwell was being medically attended to backstage, NXT officials changed their original plans for the finish to the match to have Tiffany Stratton win and become the new NXT Women’s Champion. Those plans reportedly were changed back to Hartwell retaining her title once she was able to go back out and finish her match.
In regards to Waller, Alvarez reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live that Waller also suffered a legitimate injury during his match against Carmello Hayes for the NXT Championship. Alvarez reported that following Waller suffering an injury from his rolling cutter finisher spot, the match immediately went to its finish as a result.
In regards to Sol Ruca, Alvarez reported that Ruca’s injury was also legitimate and her being attacked by a mystery person at the Performance Center was NXT officials way of writing her out of the show for the time being.
In a follow-up report, Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that his sources stated that Ruca had suffered a torn ACL injury from a recent heavy lifting and training session. Those spoken to reportedly stated that this has become an issue within NXT, especially on their Women’s division side, due to the amount of people who have recently gotten hurt from heavy training sessions.
